Cai Retires Seymour from 2019 Main Event

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

Richard Seymour moved all in from the button for 725,000. Small blind Zhen Cai called and action was on Anuj Agarwal in the big. He tanked a couple of minutes then announced all in. Cai had about 2 million more that he quickly called off.

Richard Seymour: {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Zhen Cai: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Anuj Agarwal: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop pulled Seymour well in front, but his equity surge was short-lived as Cai pumped his fist when the {q-Spades} hit on the turn, locking up the pot for him. Seymour found useless trips on the {k-Spades} river and took his leave.

Timothy Su
Timothy Su

There was around 500,000 in the pot on a board reading {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} with Timothy Su and Andrew Brokos heads-up. They each stuck in an additional 560,000 on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} completed the board.

Brokos checked from the big blind and Su slid out a bet of 2,030,000 in the hijack. Brokos dipped into the tank for about two minutes before finally making the call. Su turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for Broadway and Brokos was forced to muck his cards.

Last Break of the Night

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Joe Hachem arrives with pizza for the players
Joe Hachem arrives with pizza for the players

The clock has struck the midnight hour at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and the players in the Main Event have been sent on another break. This will be their last 15-minute break of the evening as the cameras have been turned off for the night. There is still 38:00 remaining in the fifth level of the night with 125 players still in the field.

When the players return to their seats, they will finish out this level and play half (60 minutes) of the next level before the bagging and tagging process begins. Here is a look at what happened recently:

Brokos Overpowered, Goes Broke to Power

Andrew Brokos
Andrew Brokos

Chad Power opened from early position to 140,000 and action folded around to Andrew Brokos in the small blind who three-bet all in for his last 900,000 or so. Power called.

Chad Power: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Andrew Brokos: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

There was an ace in the window but Brokos soon found himself in trouble as the dealer fanned out the complete flop of {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The turn {2-Spades} and river {6-Diamonds} did not help and Brokos found himself wishing the table good luck the rest of the way as he got up from the table and was given kudos on a well-played tournament from his opponents.

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

(Blinds still 30,000/60,000)

Alex Foxen raised to 120,000 from the cutoff, Chris Hunichen three-bet to roughly 360,000 from the small blind and Foxen called.

The flop was {2-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Hunichen bet 350,000 and Foxen took several minutes before he raised all in for 1,485,000.

"I have a hand, Foxen," said Hunichen.

After a little while, Foxen called the clock.

"I would never clock you in this spot. Ever," said Hunichen.

"I thought it was a while, but forget it," said Foxen softly, and the floor was never actually called.

After a little while longer, Hunichen called.

Foxen tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for a pair of kings, leading Hunichen's {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of jacks.

The {q-Diamonds} turn and {3-Clubs} river completed the board, locking up the double for Foxen.

Bryant's Elimination Leaves All-Male Field

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jill Bryant
Jill Bryant

On a {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop in what looked to be a three-bet pot with around 1.2 million in the middle, Jill Bryant shoved all in from the blinds for a little under 3 million. David Guay called immediately from the cutoff and turned over {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for trips.

Bryant was in awful shape with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and couldn't find one of the remaining ladies on the {10-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river.

A round of applause rippled through the remaining tables as word spread that the last woman left in the Main Event had hit the rail.

Yoon Runs Top Pair Into Su's Aces

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Brian Yoon
Brian Yoon

Brian Yoon and Timothy Su were heads-up in a pot with the flop reading {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. The two players got all of their chips in the middle with Yoon being at risk for around 2,000,000.

Timothy Su: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Brian Yoon: {k-}{q-}

Su was once again in the driver's seat just like he has been for much of the day. The {10-Clubs} on the turn left Yoon drawing to just five outs and the {10-Spades} on the river was not one of them. Yoon headed for the payout desk while Su stacked more chips to increase his lead.

Henrik Hecklen
Henrik Hecklen

Duey Duong: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Henrik Hecklen: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}

While Duong flopped a set of sevens, Hecklen had a straight and flush draw. The turn was the {8-Clubs} which brought some chop outs now and the river was the {5-Clubs}. Duong improved to a full house to scoop a massive pot and eliminate Hecklen.
