Lech Gets Seymour to Fold the River

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Having defended his big blind against a raise by Michael Lech, Richard Seymour checked the {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop and Lech continued for 75,000 to pick up a call by Seymour. They checked the {5-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} fell on the river. Seymour bet 130,000 and Lech opted to raise to 575,000.

Seymour gave it some thought and folded {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for two pair face up. The table was informed after the hand that they will go to the main feature table after the upcoming dinner break.

Chad Power raised to 75,000 from under the gun and Greg Candido shoved from mid-position for 375,000 in total. Action folded back to Power who made the call.

Chad Power: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

The flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to keep Candido ahead.

"Four," Power asked for but the turn was the {q-Clubs}.

"Four!" Power requested to keep it exciting but the river completed the board with the {a-Clubs}.

"Close..." Power commented and then counted out chips to pay up.

"Thanks for obliging," Candido said with a smile.

Jeff Madsen

A board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} was spread across felt with around 550,000 in the middle. Jeff Madsen checked from middle position and Scott Wilson jammed all in for 680,000 just a couple of seats over.

"Really?" Madsen asked.

"Yeah. It's too late to take it back now," Wilson replied.

"That's true," Madsen nodded his head.

Some more table talk ensued as Madsen tried to figure out what his opponent held. Madsen eventually made the call and Wilson's tournament life was on the line.

Jeff Madsen: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Scott Wilson: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Wilson's two pair was in the lead for the time being but the river brought the {q-Diamonds}. Madsen made a set of queens and Wilson's tournament run came to an end.

Garry Gates

There was around 750,000 in the pot on a board of {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Garry Gates had already checked from the big blind. Action was on Fabrizio Gonzalez, who was on the button and checked back.

Gates tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for nothing more than an ace-queen on top of the board's pair of deuces. Gonzalez motioned in a manner that said his own hand was not good before looking back at his cards and tapping the table to confirm while Gates took down the pot.
