Sammartino Fires Two Barrels

Dario Sammartino raised to 600,000 from the cutoff and Yuri Dzivielevski called in the big blind. On a flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Dzievielevski check-called a bet of 525,000 and did so again for 1,250,000 on the {7-Spades} turn. Both opted to check the {k-Spades} on the river and Dzivielevski turned over {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a pair of queens, which Sammartino had beat with {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

Mihai Manole raised to 750,000 from the late position and was called by Kevin Maahs in the cutoff. Action folded to Preben Stokkan in the small blind who shoved. The big blind folded quickly and so did Manole. Maahs asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Stokkan had 12,000,000 behind. Maahs went through his options for a bit longer before deciding to let his hand go.
