Abhinav "OBellaCiao" Iyer Eliminated in 15th Place (HK$120,314)

Level 19 : 120,000/240,000, 24,000 ante
Abhinav Iyer
Abhinav Iyer

Abhinav "OBellaCiao" Iyer was second in chips when the action resumed and Ignacio "Curandero" Moron was hot on his heels. That all but changed after one big clash when the big stacks collided in spectacular fashion.

Moron made it 560,000 to go from early position and Iyer three-bet to 1.82 million from one seat over, which the Spaniard called to see a {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. Moron check-called a bet of 1.27 million and then led the {10-Diamonds} turn for 1.736 million. This time it was Iyer that just called and they created a pot of more than 10 million to the {q-Spades} river.

Moron now slowed down and checked, which prompted a bet of nearly 4 million by Iyer. Moron jamed for 9,146,740 and Iyer quickly called. Moron tabled the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Iyer saw his turned trips with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} turned into dust.

One hand later, Moron raised to 560,000 first to act and Iyer called all-in. Martin Zamani came along from the button and folded the {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop to a bet of Moron.

Ignacio "Curandero" Moron: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Iyer already waved goodbye with an emoji and the {5-Clubs} turn and {9-Clubs} river brought no miracle. Iyer has been eliminated in 15th plcce and takes home HKD120,313.68 ($15,641).

Flush Beats Straight

Level 19 : 120,000/240,000, 24,000 ante

Martin Zamani raised to 600,000 in middle position and Ignacio "Curandero" Moron called on the button. Both players checked the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop. On the {k-Hearts} turn, Zamani bet 853,200 and Moron called.

Zamani slowed down on the {a-Clubs} river and checked. Moron bet 11,141,272 and Zamani called it off. Moron tabled {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the nut flush and Zamani folded {j-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The {3-Hearts} river was checked again and Peng tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, which Bhatia had beat holding the {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

Wu and "genbengLee" Depart; Two Tables Remain

Level 18 : 100,000/200,000, 20,000 ante

Paul Teoh put pressure on a short-stacked Yu Fai "Peterboy7" Wu in a battle of the blinds and simply open-shoved when it was his turn to act. Wu opted for the call and that created a pot of 5.7 million.

Yu Fai "Peterboy7" Wu: {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Paul Teoh: {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop gave Teoh an open-ender and he made a pair on the {9-Clubs} turn. A blank {k-Hearts} fell on the river and Wu was gone in 18th place.

The next short stack to succumb was then "genbengLee" moments later when he was at risk out of the big blind for crumbs against Joao Vieira.

Joao Vieira. {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

A pair on the flop for "genbengLee" gave hope for a comeback but Vieira got there on the river of the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} board.
