On the penultimate day of starting flights for Event #77: $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event, over 500 players registered to make it the biggest flight thus far. Later in the night, that total would be surpassed again, with more on that in the Day 1V flight info.

Day 1U had 506 players signing up for a crack at online poker's biggest-ever guaranteed prize pool, and 101 of them made it through after 15 levels of 30 minutes each. Leading the way was Ruslan234, playing from Thailand, who collected 718,724 in chips. Guilherme "wolverine27" Schreiber finished the night in second with 655,314 in chips, while Guillaume "Luckyshiba" Diaz rounded out the top three with 538,177 in chips.

Two-time bracelet winner Shankar Pillai, who finished third in the $25K for nearly a million on the same night, set himself up nicely to try and surpass on that monster result by bagging 528,890 in chips. Dan Almeida, Ryan Riess, and Joao Vieira also advanced.

There's one more flight on Sunday, August 30 at 12 p.m. UTC with levels of just 20 instead of 30 minutes. At 6:30 p.m. UTC, the 23 starting flights will finally gather to play out Day 2 of this amazing event, so make sure to check back to PokerNews regularly for the latest updates!
