Ponakovs Eliminated by Benitez

The action commenced with a raise to 320,000 by Rui Ferreira in middle position and Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet jammed for 2,204,464. Francisco Benitez flat-called out of the small blind and Ferreira folded the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Francisco Benitez: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board kept the superior pair in the lead and Ponakovs had to settle for 15th place.

Ichinose Doubles Through Ferreira

Level 38 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Rui Ferreira used the power of his bigger stack and piled it in for 5.6 million on the button. Kosei Ichinose was not willing to fold in the small blind for some 2.2 million and that led to the following showdown.

Kosei Ichinose: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Rui Ferreira: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop gave Ferreira a gutshot on top of the one overcard but both the {k-Diamonds} turn and {3-Hearts} river were of no help.

Satubayev Cools Down Addamo

Level 38 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Michael Addamo open-jammed the {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs} into the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Shyngis Satubayev in a battle of the blinds.

The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the kicker played.

Two hands later, Addamo opened to 320,000 in the cutoff and Satubayev got it in once more for almost 1.8 million. Addamo made the call to set up yet another confrontation.

Shyngis Satubayev: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Michael Addamo: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop didn't change anything yet but Satubayev took the lead on the {q-Clubs} turn, which he retained on the {8-Clubs} river.

Michael Addamo made it 280,000 to go in the hijack while the tables were about to be combined. Tyler "TheRayGuy" Cornell opted for the three-bet jam for more than 3.1 million and Addamo made the call.

Tyler "TheRayGuy" Cornell: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Michael Addamo: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Addamo a pair of kings and the {8-Diamonds} turn had Cornell on the brink of elimination. Addamo made two pair with the {a-Hearts} river and Cornell departed in 16th place for $62,539.

Demirjian Eliminated by Segebrecht

After three shorter stacks had doubled in quick succession, it was Mark "Chasseneige" Demirjian that ended up at risk in a battle of the blinds with Claas Segebrecht. The preflop contest was worth more than 4.4 million in chips.

Mark "Chasseneige" Demirjian: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Claaas Segebrecht: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop gave Segebrecht the top pair while Demirjian was hoping for a jack or running cards. One of them came on the {q-Clubs} turn but the {10-Spades} river bricked off. Demirjian has been eliminated in 17th place, which has set up the final two tables.

"TonyLin008": {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Rui Ferreira: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Stoyan Obreshkov: {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Tyler "TheRayGuy" Cornell: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop provided a pair for both players but Obreshkov was still trailing. His outs were reduced to the last deuces in the deck when the {q-Diamonds} turn hit and the {5-Diamonds} river ended his run in 19th place.

Wenjie "RaiseRorever" Huang raised it up to 280,000 in the cutoff and that triggered the three-bet jam by Matthias Eibinger for nearly 2.2 million in the big blind. Huang quickly called as two premium pairs clashed.

Matthias Eibinger: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Wenjie "RaiseRorever" Huang: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop provided back door straight outs for both players. Eibinger got there on the {q-Spades} turn but the {10-Spades} river restored the preflop order.
