Event #21: $25,000 Super High Roller Championship NLH, $5M Gtd

Day 1 Started

Welcome to the 2021 WSOP Online Event #21: $25,000 Super High Roller Championship

2021 WSOP Online at GGPoker
2021 WSOP Online at GGPoker

The 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events are gearing up for the business end of the festival, which is slated to run for another two weeks. Certainly considered as one of the highlight events is Event #21: $25,000 Super High Roller Championship, which comes with a $5 million guarantee.

Two hours prior to the start, there were already 80 players registered to put the event more than halfway to meeting the ambitious target. Among the notable early sign-ups are the GGPoker ambassadors Daniel Negreanu and Felipe Ramos, Niklas Astedt, Galen Hall, Sam Greenwood, 2020 WSOP Online Main Event champion Stoyan Madanzhiev, Juan Pardo, Francisco Benitez, Isaac Haxton, Ole Schemion and Bert Stevens to name all but a few.

All participants receive 100,000 in chips and the levels on Day 1 will last 15 minutes each. During the late registration period, which lasts six hours in total, all players can purchase unlimited re-entries. Once the dust has settled, the race to the money will begin and the action will conclude when the nine-handed final table has been reached.

German poker pro Christian Rudolph can be considered as the defending champion of this event as he came out on top of a 407 entry strong field in Event #70: $25,000 NLH POKER PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP during the 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Events on GGPoker. The same tournament back then featured a gigantic $10 million guarantee, while the lofty goal to meet has been cut in half for the 2021 edition.

The action gets underway at 5 pm GMT and the PokerNews team will provide updates from start to finish.

Radoja Jams Into Nolet

Level 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

In a battle of Canadians, Mark Radoja three-bet to 3,750 in the hijack and Guillaume Nolet then four-bet to 12,900 from under the gun, which Radoja called. The flop brought {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} and Nolet check-called for 10,500. The {10-Hearts} fell on the turn and Nolet check-called for another 14,500 to then check the {q-Hearts} on the river.

Radoja emptied the clip and moved all-in to force a fold from his fellow countryman.

Level 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

David Laka opened to 1,100 and was called only by Anson Tsang in the small blind. On a flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Tsang opted to check-call for 2,385 and checked again the {3-Hearts} on the turn. Laka now made it 11,900 to go and Tsang opted to check-call once more.

On the {2-Clubs} rover, Tsang check-called for 29,200 after long consideration with the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Laka tabled {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the flopped queen-high straight.

Superior Pair for Stevens

Level 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

Aram "Pusha T" Zobian made it 1,375 to go and Bert Stevens three-bet to 4,360 in the cutoff, which Zobian called. They headed to the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop on which Zobian checked and subsequently called a bet worth 3,284. He also checked the {4-Diamonds} turn and called when Stevens fired again for 5,451.

The {9-Spades} on the river was checked by both and Zobian revealed the {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. However, it was Stevens who dragged in the pot with the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.
