Alabama's All-Time Earnings Leader Shannon Shorr Looking For Some Diaper Money

One of the most consistent crushers of the last fifteen years has been Shannon "Aulophobia" Shorr, who tops the Alabama all-time earnings list on Hendon Mob, with nearly $8.6 million in recording earnings. Shorr, who recently announced that he and his wife Joy are expecting their first child, is in action today and will be looking for more success on the virtual felt after some early success on the live felt this year.

Shorr, who had six cashes in last year's WSOP.com Online Bracelet series, but has yet to win a WSOP Gold Bracelet, found his first victory of the year in Event #28: $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack, and for besting a 287-entrant field, Shorr added a healthy $296,535 to his bankroll. Shorr has also found a quartet of cashes in PokerGO branded events, including a fourth-place performance at the $10,000 NLH High Roller at The Venetian, good for $77,000.

With another full summer of bracelet events on the docket, will this be the year that Shorr breaks through for a WSOP Gold Bracelet to add another accolade to an already illustrious career? We'll be watching his status all summer long as "Aulophobia" shoots for the stars.

WSOP History: Looking Back at the November (and October) Nines

No stage in poker stood as a bigger goal for a tournament player than the final table of the WSOP Main Event. For years, that meant going to sleep knowing you had the chance of a lifetime, to go down in poker history in the next few days as the cameras captured your every bet, raise and fold.

All of that changed in 2008.

The year after Jerry Yang's Main Event victory was broadcast to all on ESPN's standard tape delay, organizers made a decision to try to increase the excitement and anticipation around the final table: after the final nine was reached, play would be paused. At that point, everyone left would go home with 9th-place money and the players would reconvene a few months later to play out the final table on a short tape delay.

That lasted until 2016, and this is the history of the November (and October) Nines.

Rocha Rivers Broadway to Eliminate Peck

David "1_BLUE_i" Peck raised to 1,050 from middle position and found one caller before Alex "RIP_Neiko" Rocha three-bet to 4,340 from the big blind.

Only Pack called and the two players saw a flop appear. Rocha continued for 7,655 and Peck quickly called off his 6,153 stack.

Peck was ahead after flopping top pair and the turn didn't change a thing but the river, gave Rocha broadway and eliminated him from the tournament.

Zajmovic Kicks Moretto Out of the Tournament

Lindsay was ahead with her made hand but had a sweat after the flop paired Salazar and gave him the nut flush draw.

Unfortunately for her, the sweat didn't last long as the turn completed Salazar's flush and the 4d] river ended her tournament.
