Hale was in decent position to stay alive as he had the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} vs the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Phillips.

But the flop sent him behind as it came the {j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and the river came the {6-Hearts} to send Hale out as the first elimination of the final table.
