Sligh Wins Classic Race

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Brandon Sligh opened the action from the hijack to 2,200. It folded to the small blind who called, but then the player in the big blind pumped it up to 7,500. Sligh moved all-in for 34,100 when the action got back to him. The player in the small blind folded and the big blind called. Sligh's tournament life was at risk.

Brandon Sligh: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} which gave the player in the big blind the nut flush draw but the river card was the {j-Hearts}. Sligh hit a set of jacks on the river to double through his opponent.

Bernstein Takes it on the Flop

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Michael Bernstein raised under the gun to 2,400 and the action folded around to the big blind who three-bet to 6,000.

The dealer spread a flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Bernstein who threw in a bet of 3,300. That was enough to push the opponent out of the hand and the dealer pushed the chips to Bernstein.

Gulati Four-Bet Jams

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Tarun Gulati raised in the hijack and the player directly on his left three-bet. The action folded back around to Gulati who four-bet shoved for his entire stack of 37,200 and the opponent called.

Tarun Gulati: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Gulati was dominated and both players connected when the flop came {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}, giving Gulati a flush draw and his opponent flopped top set. The turn completed Gulati's flush when the {10-Hearts} came, and he managed to fade the full house when the {a-Diamonds} hit the river.

Lamy Eliminates Opponent

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On the river with the board reading {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, the player first to act had moved all-in for about 21,200 into the pot of roughly 18,000. Gilles Lamy took about two minutes before deciding on the call.

The all-in player tapped the table to say "nice hand," as he showed the {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Lamy took the pot when he tabled {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of kings.

Sleeth's Straight Gets the Double

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Ashley Sleeth
Ashley Sleeth

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} with 8,500 in the middle Ashley Sleeth check-called a bet of 2,000. The turn was the {2-Spades} and Sleeth checked once again to her opponent who fired out a bet of 8,000. After giving it about five seconds she shoved all of her chips in for a total of 22,500. Her opponent called and both hands were tabled.

Ashley Sleeth: {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Sleeth had turned a straight but wasn't a lock to win the hand just yet as she needed to fade a heart for the opponent's flush. She did just that as the {3-Clubs} paired the board and secured her double up.
