Rast Rising

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

After raising in early position and picking up a call from Christopher Chung in middle position, Rast led all three streets on a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades} board.

Chung was confident in calling until the river, where he took some time to consider another call, exclaiming "what a river card". He ultimately folded, and Rast was awarded the pot.

On the following hand Rast raised in first position and took down the blinds.

The two-time $50,000 Poker Players Champion's stack is now approaching 200,000.

Wang Takes From Thorpe

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Picking the action up on the {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} turn, Mike Thorpe led into Lena Wang, who called.

The board paired kings on the river as the {k-Clubs} fell and Thorpe bet out again.

Wang eventually made the call, and Thorpe turned up {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}, which was second-best to Wang's {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

"I almost folded" said Wang as she happily stacked Thorpe's chips.

Racener Races Into the Chip Lead

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

In a recent pot, John Racener bet the turn on a {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board against Christopher Vitch, who folded.

While the pot wasn't huge, it did bring Racener's chip count over that of Day 1 chip leader Eric Kurtzman, giving him the biggest stack in the room with 25 players left.

Dehkharghani Spikes the River to Send Wang Home

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Daham Wang got the remainder of his short-stack in the middle pre-flop and was called by Kyle Kitagawa and Ray Dehkharghani.

Kitagawa and Dehkhargani checked to the turn on a board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}, when Dehkharghani put out a bet and Kitagawa folded.

Dehkharghani turned over {a-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a flush draw, while Wang was in the lead with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The river came a fourth spade, however, to complete Dehkharghani's flush and eliminate Wang.
