Cochran-Kilman Withstands Raise

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

From the button, Travis Cochran-Kilman bet 125,000, into a pot of about 275,000, on the turn on a board that read {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Mats Ullereng was in middle position and raised to 325,000. Cochran-Kilman called and they went to the river which came the {2-Hearts} to pair the board.

Both players checked and Cochran-Kilman tabled the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and took down the pot.

Conrad Collects

The board had already been run out to read {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Johnson Nguyen was facing a river decision as Christopher Conrad had made a bet of 190,000 into a pot similar in size.

Nguyen stewed it over in his head for a while, seemingly torn over the decision. Eventually he spiked a stack of chips into the middle for the call.

Conrad turned over the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for two-pair and Nguyen shook his head as more of his chips left his shrinking stack.

Gorsuch Will Not Repeat as Champion

John Gorsuch
John Gorsuch

The 2021 WSOP will have a new Millionaire Maker champion as the defending champion John Gorsuch fell early in Day 3.

As told to PokerNews, Gorsuch shoved 275,000 {4-}{4-} preflop and ran straight into the {k-}{k-} of Yiming Li. The board would provide no resuscitation for Gorsuch as it ran out blandly as he was gone.

Wantman Adds a Little

There was a three-way pot on a board of {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Matthew Wantman led for 75,000 from the small blind. The big blind, Tristan Wade, folded and the start of day chip leader, Darryl Ronconi called from under-the-gun.

The river was the {2-Spades}. Wantman led again, this time for 100,000. Ronconi thought for about ten seconds before tossing in the one chip call.

Wantman tabled the {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to take in the pot as Ronconi mucked.

Moron Shoves River

Action was on the turn, with the board reading {3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Action went check-check despite there being around 750,000 in the pot.

The river came the {5-Diamonds} to pair the board.

Brian Metter was under-the-gun and checked. Ignacio Moron jammed all in from the hijack.

Metter went into the tank as it was a decision for his tournament life. Eventually he folded his hand and Moron added a nice chunk to his stack.
