Willse Wins The Pot

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Tyler Willse opened to 2,600 in middle position. The small blind called and they went heads-up to the flop, which brings {3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The small blind checked. Willse continued with a bet of 3,600 and the small blind called.

The turn card was the {6-Spades}. Willse fired again with a bet of 5,900 and he received another call.

The {8-Clubs} fell on the river and the player in the small blind took the betting lead. He bet 13,000 only to be snapped off by Willse.

The small blind tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} giving him top pair. Willse turned over {q-Spades}{k-Clubs} for top pair with a better kicker and he scooped the pot.

Flores Scores Knockout With a Straight Flush

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

John Warchelak was seen on the way out and he responded to another player at the table. "What do you mean what I was doing in the hand? I had two pair!" Warchelak had defended the big blind with the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades} and hit the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop with top and bottom pair.

Eric Flores looked him up with the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and got there on the {8-Diamonds} turn and {10-Hearts} river runout, improving his hand to a king-high straight flush.

Hampel Eliminated by Alexander

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

"You got there," one player at the table exclaimed while David Hampel was already on the way out of the tournament area. Hampel's {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} were still tabled and he indeed made a straight on the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board. However, Heidi Alexander had that crushed with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for aces full and Hampel immediately left after he glanced at the board for a brief second.
