Sandrock Shows Top Set

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Kyle Montgomery forced a fold from Dylan Linde when he bet the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} river for 120,000.

The next three-way pot on the same table showed a {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} flop on which Montgomery and Ashly Butler checked. Chris Sandrock bet 125,000 and Butler was the only caller. On the {4-Clubs} turn, Butler checked once more and Sandrock now bet 325,000.

Butler opted to fold and was shown the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for the top set by Sandrock.

Younes Builds Through Maksimov

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Action picked up on the turn with the board reading {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Artem Maximov bet 115,000 in the big blind and got raised by Nader Younes on the button to 230,000. Jeremy Ausmus was also in the hand in the small blind, but he folded before Maximov called.

The river brought the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Younes showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for top two pair, which claimed the pot.

Christopher Andler

Christopher Andler three-bet the pot over a raise from Kyle Montgomery, who called to see the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop. Montgomery led out with a pot-sized bet, and called when Andler raised all-in.

Christopher Andler: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Kyle Montgomery: {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Andler's aces were ahead, but the turn {7-Clubs} gave Montgomery a straight. The river {3-Spades} was no help, and Andler was eliminated in 22nd place.

Michael Wolff
Michael Wolff

The vast majority of the stack of Michael Wolff was already in the middle heading to the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop and that's when his shove was looked up by Jonathan Witz.

Michael Wolff: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Jonathan Witz: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The open-ended straight draw of Witz immediately got there on the {8-Hearts} turn and the {5-Clubs} river was a mere formality, as Wolff headed to the rail in 23rd place for a payday of $23,806.

Shiva Dudani: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Jonathan Witz: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The {6-Hearts} turn changed nothing just yet but Witz spiked the miracle {k-Diamonds} on the river to improve to a set of kings. He vaulted out of his seat in celebration and banged his fist against a nearby wall before returning to the seat.

Kuney Eliminated by Witz

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Michael Kuney was short-stacked and all-in with aces against Jonathan Witz.

Michael Kuney: {a-Spades}{a-}{9-Spades}{5-}
Jonathan Witz: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Both players found something on the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, as Kuney had a flush draw against Witz's set of queens. The {5-Clubs} turn and {4-Hearts} river changed nothing, and Kuney hit the rail in 25th place.

Witz Rips Into Younes

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Jonathan Witz bet 90,000 in the small blind and Nader Younes raised to 225,000 on the button. Witz then raised the pot for more than 800,000 and that sent Younes into the tank. He then folded and exposed the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for everyone to see.

Witz only exposed the {q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} with the words "I don't even know what the other cards are."

Eli Elezra replied: "you had the nut flush draw, I know you."

Witz shot back with a remark that indicated Elezra had no idea what he was talking about and that caused some friendly banter.

"I played poker before you were born. How old are you? I am 61."

Witz replied "I am 59" and then raked in the pot with a grin on the face without exposing his other two cards.

The atmosphere on the final four tables has been very jovial as the action may have slowed down but the jokes from various contenders have not.

More For Sandrock

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Chris Sandrock led into Leonid Yanovski for 30,000. Yanovski called.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and Sandrock quickly fired out a meatier 180,000, which got a fold from Yanovski, as the Day 1 chip leader makes a late press to earn the same title after Day 2.
