Negreanu Puts Theologis to the Test, Hellmuth Exits

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu

With about 33,000 in the pot on the river {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Daniel Negreanu bet 13,000, and Alexandros Theologis cut out a bet of 105,000.

Negreanu thought it over before declaring all-in.

Theologis shook his head, considered his options, and ultimately folded to preserve the 53,000 he had behind.

Meanwhile, Phil Hellmuth has been eliminated just as quickly as he arrived.

Mason Eliminates Chen

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Craig Mason raised to 10,000 and it folded to James Chen who pushed from the button for a stack around 50,000 as he recently late registered the tournament. It was a snap-call by Mason who flipped over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} while Chen held {q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The board {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, bringing no help to Chen who made his way to the exit.

Vieira Folds, Opponent Shows One

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Joao Vieira was in a heads-up pot on a board of {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} with over 90,000 in the middle.

His opponent bet 80,000 on the river and Vieira studied the board before tossing his hand in the muck. The opponent showed the {9-Spades} in his hand.

Laplante Gets Counterfeited

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ryan Laplante raised all-in on a flop of {3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Clubs} and his heads-up opponent called with less.

Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Ryan Laplante: {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Laplante was ahead with two pair but the {3-Diamonds} on the turn counterfeited his hand, and the {a-Spades} on the river only made things worse. The opponent doubled and Laplante was left with around 25,000.
