Thornton Busts Friedlander in Cooler

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Steve Friedlander and John Thornton went heads-up to a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Friedlander moved all in and Thornton snap-called.

"Top pair. Do you have a set?" Friedlander asked, turning over {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Thornton did indeed flop a set with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to give the pot to Thornton. The stacks were counted down and Thornton had 1,140,000, while Friedlander had 800,000.

"Nothing else you could do. You played it perfectly," a tablemate said to Friedlander before he headed for the payout desk.

Matsumoto Doubles With Ladies

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

David Matusmoto moved all in for about 310,000 over a raise of 85,000 from Jeff Norman. Norman thought for several moments before calling.

David Matusmoto: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jeff Norman: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The flop came {3-}{j-}{8-} and the turn sewed it up for Matsumoto as the {q-Clubs} came off. The river was the {9-Clubs} and Matsumoto gathered in a double up.

Roberts Doesn't Complete Comeback Story

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Brian Roberts lost most of his chips in a coin flip against Timothy Little.

Two hands later, Roberts got his last 50,000 in the middle from under the gun and was called by Steven Powers (middle position), David Kluchman (small blind), and Nicholas Dileo (big blind).

Kluchman led out for 100,000 on the {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Spades} flop and only Dileo called. Both players then checked down the {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} turn and river.

"Jack-high," Kluchman announced, turning over {j-Spades}{6-Spades}. Dileo had him beat with {k-Spades}{8-Spades} for king-high, while Roberts could only show {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} before hitting the rail.

Sacha Knocks Hits A Set

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action was picked up on the flop Denis Bilodeau all-in and at risk with John Sacha covering him. The board read {6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the cards were tabled.

Denis Bilodeau: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
John Sacha: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Sacha called out for a nine of clubs and sure enough the turn came a {9-Clubs}, giving Sacha a set. The river came an {a-Hearts} which filled Sacha up on top of that. Sacha raked in the pot as his stack neared three million chips.

Orrico Collects With Trip Aces

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action was picked up on the river as the board read {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. John Sacha made a bet of 250,000 on the river and was quickly called.

Sacha flashed a {q-} but that was no good at Brian Orrico had the {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for trip aces and took down the pot.
