Lopes Survives on the River

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

On the first hand back from break, Bruno Lopes raised all in for 1,650,000 and was called by Christopher Cummings on the button.

Bruno Lopes: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Christopher Cummings: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop gave Lopes a pair of kings, but it also gave Cummings a set. The {j-Clubs} fell on the turn, followed by the {a-Clubs} on the river to improve Lopes to a straight.

Action was picked up on the flop with cards on their back. The table recapped that Sean Moore had gone all in for 1,700,000 and Ken Coplon in later position called with the bigger stack.

Sean Moore: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Ken Coplon: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Moore found no help for his pocket twos and he saw his exit just before the redraw.

Cheffy Shows Sullivan the Nuts

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Louis Cheffy and Dwayne Sullivan went heads-up to a {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop. Cheffy checked from the big blind, then called when Sullivan bet 300,000.

On the {4-Spades} turn, Cheffy checked over to Sullivan, who put out 1,000,000. Cheffy then came back with an all-in raise for 510,000, and Sullivan called with some hesitation.

Cheffy showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the flopped nut flush, while Sullivan was drawing thin with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The river came {9-Spades} and Cheffy doubled up.

With 29 players remaining, Cheffy is looking to better his 29th-place finish in this event 10 years ago. "I would've folded the nut flush in your situation," Jonathan Ingalls joked.
