Nicholas Julia
Nicholas Julia

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

In two consecutive hands of limit 2-7 triple draw, Kristan Lord was bested by Nicholas Julia.

On the first hand, after a bet by Julia and a call by Lord, Julia tabled a {10-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{2-} for an ten-eight low and Lord mucked afterward.

The second hand went about the same way with Julia having fired one last bet after the final draw and Lord called. This time Julia tabled a {9-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} for a nine-eight low and once again Lord whirled his cards into the muck.

With the action folded around to the blinds, Kristan Lord raised to 150,000 chips from the small blind. Next, Robert McLaughlin moved all-in from the big blind and Lord snap-called.

The dealer spread the flop of {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Lord remained ahead.

The turn card was the {2-Diamonds} and changed nothing.

The river card was the {q-Clubs} and things ended where they began with Lord in the lead, and McLaughlin was eliminated in 5th place and took home $32,808 in cash.

Liberto Gets Short

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Nicholas Julia raised on the button and called a three-bet by Justin Liberto. On a {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop, Liberto check-called a bet and did so again on the {5-Clubs} turn. Liberto then checked the {a-Spades} river and Julia bet to force a fold.

One hand later, Liberto raised and was called by Kristan Lord in the small blind. Liberto opted to check-call the {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and the {7-Clubs} turn was checked. Liberto also checked the {2-Clubs} on the river and Lord bet. A reluctant call by Liberto followed and Lord flipped over the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} for two pair and a low. Liberto had the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and earned half of the low pot to get quartered.
