From Three to Pat, Just Like That

Level 21

What looked like an innocent enough pot quickly escalated between Brian Yoon and Danny Wong.

Wong limped the small blind, and Yoon checked his option in the big blind.

Each player then drew three, and Wong checked to Yoon, who bet. In came a check-raise from Wong, which Yoon called.

Wong then patted his hand, and while not as apparently strong as his opponent, Yoon still had a one-card draw.

Wong kept up the aggression, firing a bet out dark, which Yoon also called.

Wong patted once more, but Yoon needed to keep drawing one.

They both checked the end and Wong showed {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for a winner to solidify his chip lead, but as we've seen the last couple of levels, chip leads are becoming less and less safe.

Chip Lead Swings Again to Wong

Level 21
Danny Wong
Danny Wong

Just as quickly as Brian Yoon grabbed the chip lead, it's been returned to Danny Wong after a wild back-and-forth pot between the two.

Action began as Yoon raised the button and got three-bet by Wong in the big blind. Yoon called.

Wong needed just one card, while Yoon drew two.

Wong continued his story with a bet, but he was then raised by Yoon. Wong called and drew one again, while Yoon patted his hand.

This time Wong checked to Yoon, who bet quickly, and was quickly called by Wong, who again drew one while Yoon stood pat.

On the final betting round, Wong re-took the betting lead, giving Yoon some pause before he finally called.

Wong showed an eight-perfect ({8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}) to take down the pot and re-take the chip lead.

Wong Regains Chip Lead

Level 21

With the three players now very close in chips, the lead could swing back and forth this level.

After briefly taking the chip lead, Wil Wilkinson gave it back to Danny Wong in a recent hand.

Wong raised on the button into Wilkinson's big blind. Wilkinson defended and drew three, while Wong took two.

Business then picked up as Wilkinson check-raised Wong, but was then met by a third bet, which he called.

Wilkinson drew one card, while Wong patted his hand.

Wilkinson then check-called another bet from Wong and again drew one, while Wong stood pat.

Action on the end was checked through with Wilkinson declaring he only had a pair of fives, while Wong showed a winning {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to boost his stack back toward two million.
