Tough Start for Schindler

Level 9 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jake Schindler came into the day as one of the largest stacks in the field but has struggled to pull in a pot thus far. After raising to 25,000 from the cutoff, Stanley Tang defended from the big blind.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Tang check-called a bet of 10,000 from Schindler. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and Tang check-called another bet of 50,000 from Schindler.

The {a-Hearts} paired the board on the river and Tang opted to lead out for 20,000 this time. Schindler thought for nearly two minutes before finally flicking in a call. Tang turned over {a-Spades}{6-Spades} for trip aces and Schindler conceded.

Petrangelo Can't Hold, Wilson Also Bows Out

Level 9 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Adrian Mateos opened to 20,000 in the hijack and Nick Petrangelo shoved all in for 137,000 in the small blind. Scott Ball re-raised out of the big blind which got Mateos to quickly fold.

Nick Petrangelo: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Scott Ball: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Petrangelo was in good shape but the flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} gave Ball the only flush draw. He nailed the flush right away on the {5-Clubs} and Petrangelo was drawing dead to the {3-Spades} on the river.

At the table next door, Brock Wilson was seen getting up from his seat when the board read {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Wilson tabled {a-}{q-} for top pair but it was no match for the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} of Dylan Linde.

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Jonathan Jaffe, Daniel Negreanu, and Alexandros Theologis went three ways to a {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop. Theologis checked from the big blind, and Jaffe checked from the cutoff.

Negreanu bet 21,000 from the button, and Theologis folded. Jaffe check-raised to 50,000, and Negreanu called.

Jaffe put 225,000 in the pot on the {j-Hearts} turn, enough to put Negreanu all-in with a call. Negreanu committed his remaining 120,000.

Daniel Negreanu: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Jonathan Jaffe: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The river {6-Diamonds} sealed Negreanu's fate, and he's out early in Day 2.

All three players checked the {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Action checked to Seidel on the {q-Spades} turn, Seidel bet 50,000, and only Kornuth called.

Level 9 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Darren Elias
Darren Elias

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Darren Elias had a bet of 140,000 cut out in front of him on the button. Brian Rast was in the tank for over a minute before finally announcing he was all-in. Elias quickly called off his stack and was the player at risk.

Rast flipped over {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} but would need some help against the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} of Elias. The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Elias held on to earn a double up for over 360,000 chips, leaving Rast with just 48,000 after the hand. Moments later, Rast was seen leaving the tournament area.

Perry Clips Katz Once Again

Level 9 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action was down to Cary Katz on the button and Sean Perry in the big blind, and in short order they both had their stack in the middle. Katz was the player at risk for about 280,000 and he wasn't happy with what he saw.

Cary Katz: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Sean Perry: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

"You always get me in these spots," Katz murmered. The {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board ran out clean for Perry who picked up a sizeable pot and eliminated Katz in the process.

Negreanu Wins a Flip

Level 9 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action folded to Vicent Bosca on the button who chose to just limp in. Daniel Negreanu was in the big blind with just over 10 big blinds and moved all in for 116,000. Bosca quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Vicent Bosca: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop of {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} gave Negreanu a flush draw to go with his two over cards. The turn was the {k-Spades} to put Negreanu out front and the {7-Diamonds} on the river improved him to a flush.
