Cates Arrives; Ready to Rumble in Razz

Level 10 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Razz

Dan Cates: {x-}{x-} / {7-}{10-}{2-}{6-} / {x-}
Ben Yu: {x-}{x-} / {4-}{j-}{9-}{8-} / {x-}

Dan Cates arrived with a massage girl ready to work and was immediately involved in an animated Razz hand. He bet all streets and was called down by Ben Yu. After his final bet on seventh was also called, he immediately joked "fuck, that's not good ... I have a ten."

Yu rolled over the {7-}{6-}{5-} for an eight-seven and that won the pot.

Campbell Leaves Barbero Short

Level 10 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Seven Card Stud

Nacho Barbero: {x-}{x-} / {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Ben Yu: {x-}{x-} / {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts} fold on fourth
Brian Rast: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{5-Spades} fold on fourth
Chad Campbell: {x-}{x-} / {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} / {x-}

Nacho Barbero bet fourth street with a pair of nines showing and Ben Yu folded, as did Brian Rast. Chad Campbell called and did so again on fifth. Sixth street then gave Campbell the lead and he bet, Barbero called. Another bet and call followed on seventh and Campbell tabled the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for jacks full of fours. A frustrated Barbero showed {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} for tens and nines.

"How do you catch the last jack there?" Barbero asked more to himself than his opponent.

Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

No-Limit Hold'em

In a battle of the blinds on the {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, Robert Campbell bet 8,000 out of the small blind and received a call by Yuri Dzivielevski in the big blind. The {10-Clubs} on the turn was checked by both players and Campbell then bet the {2-Spades} on river for 22,000. Dzivielevski mulled over his decision for a short while and called to get shown {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} by Campbell. That ended up as the winning hand as the reigning WSOP Player of the Year pulled ahead of Dzivielevski in the counts.
