Curcio Doubles through Liberto

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Luigi Curcio
Luigi Curcio

Pot-Limit Omaha

Justin Liberto opened to 2,800 and it was called by the button and Luigi Curcio in the big blind. The flop {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} came and it was checked to Liberto who continued for 4,100, only called by Curcio.

Things heated on the {3-Diamonds} turn. Curcio check-raised all in for 26,900 after Liberto fired 20,000. Liberto called to create the following showdown.

Luigi Curcio: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}
Justin Liberto: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Curcio had two pair and a {3-Spades} on the river didn't change anything to give him the double up.

Deeb Helps Triple Up Martini

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

A player in early position raised to 2,800 and Shaun Deeb called from the button. Julien Martini then three-bet to 16,000, leaving only a few thousand behind.

The early-position player also went all in and Deeb called. Martini stuck in the rest of his rest.

Julien Martini: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Early Position: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Shaun Deeb: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Martini's pair of aces stayed in front. He tripled up his 19,400 stack, while Deeb handed over 16,000 to the early position player.

Astedt Bombs the River

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

No-Limit Hold'em

With the board showing {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and a big pot already in the middle, Niklas Astedt slid forward a tower of pink 5,000 chips for a bet totaling 85,000.

His opponent in the small blind tanked for about two minutes before calling. Astedt turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for the flopped set that became a full house on the river and the small blind mucked, claiming to have had ace-king.

"Nice hand. Very, very nice hand," he told Astedt.

"That makes it easier," Astedt replied when told what his opponent was holding.

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a three-bet pot, the flop showed {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} when the cutoff and Avi Cohen on the button checked. When the {10-Clubs} came on the turn, the cutoff bet 15,000 and Cohen made the call.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and the cutoff took a minute before moving all in for a remaining stack around 24,000. Cohen looked at his cards once more but eventually folded.

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Alex Pope went heads-up to the river against 2021 bracelet winner Dylan Weisman. With the board showing {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}, Weisman bet 5,000 before Pope raised to 15,000. Weisman called.

"Straight," Pope said, revealing {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} for the flopped eight-high straight that turned into a nine-high straight on the river. Weisman mucked to drop down below 10,000.

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

According to Gabriel Andrade, he just dropped a big pot to Bradley Ruben after Ruben hit two perfect cards on the turn and river.

Andrade raised to 2,000 pre-flop and got five calls. He bet another 10,000 on the {k-}{10-}{3-} flop and only Ruben called. The turn came the {9-} and both players checked.

Ruben led out for 15,000 on the {6-} river and Andrade called with {k-}{k-}{q-}{10-} for the flopped set. Ruben, though had {8-}{7-}{3-}{3-} for the runner-runner straight to win the pot.

"I threw up," Andrade said.

"It's all skill," said three-time bracelet winner Ruben. "That's how you do it."
