Garvin Catches a Bluff

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Garrett Garvin was in the big blind and went heads-up to a flop of {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} with a player under the gun. Garvin led out for around 8,000, and his opponent called.

Garvin bet again on the {2-Spades} turn, this time for 15,000. The under the gun player called and they went to the river, which came {5-Clubs}. Garvin checked, allowing his opponent to bet 25,000.

Garvin studied the decision for about a minute before gathering the chips to call and putting them into the middle. His opponent showed {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a missed straight draw, while Garvin turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a set of aces to win the pot.

A {k-Spades} completed the board on the river and this time the big blind bet 700, called by Ingalls. The big blind showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for the straight but Ingalls tabled {a-Hearts}{8-Spades} for the flush and took down the pot.
