Clock Called on Verderamo Twice as Field Hits Three Tables

Level 33 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Peter Cross and Nicholas Verderamo were heads-up on a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Cross bet 1,200,000 and Verderamo tanked for several minutes.

The clock was eventually called. Just as the tournament floor reached zero, Verderamo announced a raise to 5,000,000. Cross then moved all in and called the clock on Verderamo again.

With just 50,000 left, Verderamo waited until the clock was nearly down again before calling. He had {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} but was dominated by the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} of Cross.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Verderamo was eliminated, bringing the field down to the final three tables.

Hansen Doesn't Realize He Doubles Up

Level 35 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Todd Hansen
Todd Hansen

Todd Hansen, who made the final table of the Seniors event last week, moved all in for 2,275,000 and was up against Gerald Dunn.

Todd Hansen: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Gerald Dunn: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}

"Ace, ace, ace. Ace one time," Hansen said as the dealer put out a board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}. Hansen thought he was eliminated before the table reminded him that, not only was he ahead the entire time, he had made a straight to double up.

Dunn, left with 1,000,000, was eliminated a few hands later.
