Lau Left Standing in Five-Way Pot

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Brian Rast just took his seat at the table and raised to 6,000 from early position. He got four callers, including Felipe Ramos in middle position, Ka Kwan Lau in the small blind, and Josh Arieh in the big blind.

"Take it, Brian," Arieh joked as he became the fifth player to put chips in the pot.

"Raise and take it. It's that kind of table," Rast replied.

All five players checked the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop before Lau led out for 13,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Only Ramos called to see the {3-Clubs} river.

Lau bet another 40,000 and this time Ramos threw his hand away.

Bowker's Full House Busts One

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Three players, including Kyle Bowker on the button, saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Action checked to Bowker who put out a bet of 26,000. Only the small blind called to see the {k-Spades} on the turn.

Bowker this time bet 125,000 and his opponent called all in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Spades} for a straight. Bowker had the same straight with {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} with outs to a full house.

The {2-Clubs} fell on the river, filling up Bowker and sending his opponent to the rail as one of the first casualties of the tournament.

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Ian O’Hara
Ian O’Hara

Ian O'Hara was in a four-way pot on a board reading {5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. O'Hara moved all-in for 73,000 and only AP Garza called.

Ian O'Hara: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
AP Garza: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

O'Hara had a set of queens while Garza had the nut flush draw. O'Hara didn't have to sweat it long as the turn brought the {5-Spades} to give him a full house.

The {2-Hearts} on the river gave Garza his flush, but it wasn't enough to win the pot.
