Herm Eliminates Soverel

Level 13 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Sam Soverel moved all-in for exactly his starting stack of 300,000 chips from under the gun and was reraised all-in by Mark Herm. The rest of the players ducked out of the way and Soverel and Herm headed to the flop heads-up.

The hands were tabled and it was the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} held by Soverel that were at-risk and behind the pocket {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} held by Herm.

The dealer ran out the board of {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades} and things ended as they began, with Herm ahead, which in turn eliminated Soverel from the tournament.

Koon Doubles Through Smith to Assume Chip Lead

Level 14 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

Dan Smith opened to 80,000 from middle position and action folded to Jason Koon in the big blind, who three-bet to 450,000. Smith shoved and Koon called off for 2.85 million.

Dan Smith: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Jason Koon: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

A chop seemed all but certain, but {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop gave Koon a backdoor flush draw.

The {3-Diamonds} turn improved Koon to a front door draw, and the {q-Diamonds} river completed Koon's flush — vaulting him to 5.7 million in chips for the current chip lead

Leng Doubles Through Roungeris with Aces

Level 15 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

In a limped pot on a flop of {8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Ryan Leng moved all-in and was called by Antonios Roungeris.

It was the pocket {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} held by Leng that were at-risk and trailed the {k-Clubs}{3-Spades} for two pairs held by Roungeris.

The dealer burned and turned the {7-Clubs} and Roungeris remained ahead.

The river card {a-Clubs} spiked the set of aces that Leng needed to survive, and he survived his all-in and secured a much-needed double-up.

Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Barry Hutter opened up the betting pre-flop when he raised it to 120,000 chips. Ren Lin reraised him to 325,000, and Darren Elias moved all-in for 1,270,000. Next, Hutter laid it down and Lin Tanked and called.

It was a flip as Elias held {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} versus the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} held by Lin.

The dealer ran out the board of {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and it was Lin's queens that held, which in turn eliminated Elias from the tournament.

Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Negreanu Leaves Deeb Short-stacked

Level 17 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

In a blind versus blind confrontation and a flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} Daniel Negreanu fired out a bet of 120,000. Next, Shaun Deeb raised all-in and Negreanu snap-called.

The hands were tabled and it was the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} held by Deeb for one pair of aces that trailed the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} held by Negreanu for one set of aces.

The dealer burned and turned the {j-Hearts} and that left Deeb drawing dead.

The meaningless river card {7-Clubs} made it official, and Negreanu survived his all-in and chipped up to over 2.7 million.
