Event #85: $50,000 High Roller
Day 1 Started
Event #85: $50,000 High Roller marks the second of three No-Limit Hold'em high rollers this week and is set to begin at 3 p.m. local time. (Event #82: $250,000 Super High Roller is already underway and the $100,000 buy-in event is set to begin tomorrow.)
Back in 2019, Danny Tang won this event after topping a 123-entry field to claim his first gold bracelet and $1,608,406 first-place prize. It appears Tang has been absent during this year's WSOP, which means a new winner for this event among the high-roller crowd will be recognized.
So far during the 2021 WSOP, Tyler Cornell and Michael Addamo have both claimed victory in No-Limit Hold'em High Rollers — with the former taking down Event #38: $50,000 High Roller for $833,289 and the latter winning Event #38: $50,000 High Roller for $1,132,968.
Players will begin this eight-handed event with 300,000 in chips. Levels will last 40 minutes each and the first level will start things off at 1,000/1,000 blinds with a 1,000 big blind ante. A 15-minute break will occur after every three levels and Day 1 will conclude after 12 levels have been played.
Late registration will conclude at the start of Day 2 and players are allowed one re-entry each.
Continue to stick with PokerNews as we will be providing all the high-roller action from the tournament floor leading to the next gold-bracelet winner!
With 20 players to start things off — cards are now in the air!
