flop, the action checked to Merrifield who put in a bet of 1,000. The small blind folded and Sammartino check-raised to 3,000. Merrifield didn't take much time before making the call.
The 
landed on the turn and Sammartino check-called the 5,500 bet from Merrifield.
When the 
completed the board on the river Sammartino checked once again and Merrifield didn't slow down, firing in a bet of 22,000. Sammartino looked perplexed and after a little over three minutes of staring Merrifield down he decided to throw his cards into the muck pile.
