Cowen Gets Away From the Third Nuts

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

It was only a small pot to the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades} river and Benjamin Armstrong checked his option out of the big blind. Robert Cowen then made it 400,000 to go and Armstrong opted for a massive raise to two million. A crowd gathered on the nearby rail and the camera crews also rushed to the table as Cowen was deep in the tank.

After more than three minutes, Cowen said "I feel like I gonna fold". Another 30 seconds passed and Cowen indeed folded, revealing the {j-Spades}{2-Spades} for the third nuts. Armstrong returned the favour and showed his {k-Spades}{7-Spades} for the nuts.

"I raised too much. If I make it 1.2 million you probably gonna call," Armstrong admitted after the hand was over.

The table has been the most active so far with many big pots every other minute. Norbert Koh's arrival brought another big stack to the table and it will go to the feature stages after the upcoming dinner break.
