Rigby Near Nine Million After Eliminating Flood

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Nicholas Rigby
Nicholas Rigby

Nicholas Rigby opened to 125,000 in early position and Benjamin Armstrong called as the next player to act, while David Flood called from the big blind.

All three players checked on the flop of {5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Flood checked on the {2-Hearts} turn. Rigby bet 305,000 and Armstrong called, while Flood check-raised all-in for 990,000. Rigby re-raised to 1,650,000 and Armstrong folded.

David Flood: {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Nicholas Rigby: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Flood had two pair while Rigby was on a flush and straight draw. The river brought the {10-Hearts} and Rigby made his flush to eliminate Flood as his rail erupted in celebration.

"You're about to see that on PokerNews!" someone on the rail shouted.

Chidwick Gets Aces to Eliminate Lehr

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick opened to 125,000 and called a three-bet jam from Keith Lehr worth 1,050,000.

Keith Lehr: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

It was bad news for Lehr as Chidwick had aces and he was eliminated when the board ran out {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The run-good continues for Chidwick, who has now eliminated two opponents since returning from dinner break.

Aldemir Soars to the Top

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

The new chip leader — or close to — in the Main Event is German high roller Koray Aldemir, who clashed with Super Seniors winner Jean-Luc Adam in what's surely one of, if not the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

While exact action is unknown as of yet, the board was reading {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and at least 2 million flew in from Adam's end (small blind), met by a snapcall from Aldemir (under the gun).

Jean-Luc Adam: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Koray Aldemir: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Adam was drawing stone dead going into the river, making the {j-Spades} that popped up a mere formality.

Shortly after, Nick Petrangelo was moved to the open seat two spots to Aldemir's right.

Khalilov Back From the Brink; Ilani Eliminated

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ran Ilani
Ran Ilani

Anar Khalilov earned an unlikely double when his seven-six beat the king-seven of Nicolas Vayssieres. One hand later, Khalilov was in the small blind and saw action ahead of him with Ran Ilani and Vayssieres involved. The former ended up all-in for 840,000 and Khalilov got it in for 1,005,000 while Vayssieres had both covered by a wide margin.

Ran Ilani: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Anar Khalilov: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Nicolas Vayssieres: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board left Ilani without any chips and he was eliminated while Khalilov essentially tripled up.

Simpson Five-Bet Shoves Into Aces

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Conrad Simpson
Conrad Simpson

Denys Prydvor opened to 100,000 from under the gun and Conrad Simpson three-bet to 350,000 a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Prydvor who four-bet to 875,000. Simpson tanked for about five minutes before five-bet shoving all in for around 1,800,000. Prydvor snap-called and had Simpson in trouble.

Conrad Simpson: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Denys Prydvor: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Simpson was left with two out and only two cards to come. The {6-Spades} on the turn and the {10-Clubs} on the river were of no help and Simpson was forced to the rail.

Jonathan Dwek

The remaining 162 players are heading on a 75-minute dinner break. The action is scheduled to resume at approximately 8:15 p.m. local time with the blinds at 25,000/50,000 and a big blind ante of 50,000. Here is a look at some highlights from the past level:

Silva Hits Quads to Eliminate Feathers

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Breno Campelo
Breno Campelo

Breno Silva opened to 80,000 in late position and Robert Feathers defended from the big blind.

Silva bet 80,000 on the flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and called when Feathers raised to 240,000. Feathers checked on the {k-Diamonds} turn and Silva bet 625,000. Feathers raised all-in for 1,750,000 and Silva called.

Robert Feathers: {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Breno Silva: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Feathers had a pair and a flush draw against the set of Silva and needed a club to stay alive. Instead, the river brought {5-Diamonds} and the rail erupted as Silva made quads to eliminate Feathers.

Bianchi Finishes Off Weinman

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Daniel Weinman
Daniel Weinman

Daniel Weinman was just whittled down to his last 300,000 chips and woke up with a premium hand. He got all of his chips in the middle preflop and was up against Chase Binachi.

Daniel Weinman: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Chase Bianchi: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Bianchi spiked an ace to take the lead. Weinman picked up a flush draw on the {3-Clubs} turn but the {6-Diamonds} on the river ended Weinman's run.

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jonathan Dwek
Jonathan Dwek

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Jonathan Dwek just flat-called on his left. Aristeidis Moschonas was in the hijack and shipped all in for 740,000. Kiriopoulos asked for a count but decided to fold and Dwek instantly called.

Aristeidis Moschonas: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Jonathan Dwek: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Dwek's pair of tens held on to eliminate Moschonas.

"Back-to-back," Heng Zhang mentioned. Dwek had just eliminated Andy Li in the hand before that.
