Galfond Beats O'Hara in Showdown

Level 14

Badeucey

In a heads-up hand in which Phil Galfond and Ian O'Hara discarded one each on the final draw and checked it down, Galfond announced a seven-six to the surprise of O'Hara when the cards were revealed.

Galfond had tabled the {7-Clubs} / {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} which in fact was a six-seven for a Six-Dugi and a seventy-six. Either way, it won the pot as O'Hara sent his cards into the muck.

Nick Schulman raised to 9,000 on the button and then called a three-bet to 35,000 by Joao Vieira in the small blind. Vieira patted while Schulman took one card and Vieira opted to check. Schulman then bet 39,000 for what seemed to be a third of his stack.

Vieira went into the tank and eventually called but mucked when Schulman revealed the {10-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}.

Mueller Loses Some; Wins Some Back

Level 13

Badeucey

In three-way action until after the final draw, Randy Ohel won the low pot with {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for an eighty-six with a three-card six as Marco Johnson won the high pot with {9-Spades} / {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a ninety-eight with an Eight-Dugi. Greg Mueller was scooped and plummeted to a shorter stack.

Mueller then got some chips back after he scooped Johnson in the hand thereafter. On the second draw, Johnson took one and Mueller took two for Johnson to bet and Mueller to call.

Both patted on the final draw and Johnson check-called a bet. Mueller tabled the {7-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a nine-seven low with a nine badugi and that was good enough to win the pot, since Johnson flashed a ten.

The Current Game Selection at a Glance

Level 13

There has not been any elimination since the final five tables were reached and three of the five tables were on Badacey at the same time. Two then switched to Stud Hi-Lo Regular, which typically results in split pots.

Table 133 then moved on to Badeucey, another popular split pot game, while Table 142 with Nick Schulman, Joao Simao, Joshua Ladines, Ben Diebold, Christopher Claassen and Shaun Deeb are currently engaged in A-5 Triple Draw.
