Scholl Falls to "Team Torch"

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Benjamin Scholl raised from middle position before Michael Coombs re-raised in the cutoff. Scholl then moved all in for his last 30,000 and Coombs snap-called.

Benjamin Scholl: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Michael Coombs: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Scholl was dominated and didn't improve as the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}.

"Team Torch," Coombs said, showing the patch he and Peter Lynn are wearing.

Coombs and Lynn are roommates and are sitting right beside each other. "We played together all day yesterday, too," Coombs said.

Linchesky Takes on the Newcomer and the World Champ

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Robert Linchesky was just involved in a pot against two opponents from opposite sides of the poker spectrum. One, Joe McKeehen, is the 2015 Main Event champ. The other, Todd Rones, is playing his first-ever poker tournament.

McKeehen opened the pot with a raise and both Linchesky and Rones called. McKeehen continued on the {7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop and both opponents called.

The turn came the {j-Spades} and McKeehen bet again. Linchesky raised, Rones folded, and McKeehen called. Both players checked the {q-Hearts} river.

Linchesky showed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for two pair, kings and jacks, and the world champ and three-time bracelet winner mucked.

Running Trips Sends Owen Home

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Brad Owen
Brad Owen

Kenny Hsiung raised in the cutoff and Brad Owen defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Owen check-raised Hsiung. Hsiung asked, "do you only have 6,000 behind?" before putting in the raise and Owen called off his remaining 6,000.

Brad Owen: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Kenny Hsiung: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Owen was in the lead with ace-high and a gutshot straight draw but the {q-Clubs} on the turn improved Hsiung to a pair of queens. The {q-Hearts} river put the nail in the coffin as Hsiung made trips to eliminate Owen from the tournament.

Rones' Magical Runs Ends

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Todd Rones was in the big blind and forced all in for his last 9,000. "It goes quick. You can't afford to go cold for an hour and a half," he said.

Joe McKeehen raised and Michael Lipner called, creating a side pot going to a flop of {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Lipner called a bet, then proceeded to call down McKeehen as the board ran out {4-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

McKeehen showed {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for the flopped full house and Lipner mucked.

"It's over. It was so beautiful," Rones yelled, his first poker tournament ever coming to an end with a top-60 finish.

Two Shots Gets it Done for West

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Timothy West raised in early position and Chip Jett defended his big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Jett quickly check-called a bet from West.

The {j-Clubs} landed on the turn and Jett checked to West who fired another shell. Jett paused for only a moment and slid his cards into the muck.
