Just nine players remain in Event #16: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em, with three former bracelet winners still in contention.

Leading the way is David Miscikowski, who won his first WSOP bracelet in 2014 and will be in pole position to add another when play resumes at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 11.

Other bracelet winners still alive are Davide Suriano and Joey Weissman. Suriano won his bracelet the same year as Miscikowski, but for Weissman, it will be just under 10 years since he grabbed a bracelet back in 2012.

Day 3 Recap

A bumper field of 75 returned for Day 3 and they were led by Alex Foxen. Notables who hit the rail early included bracelet winners Stephen Song, Matthew Bode, Adrian Mateos along with GGPoker Ambassador Felipe Ramos and Women in Poker Hall of Famer JJ Liu.

Several players were vying for the position of big stack, with Alexandros Theologis moving ahead after the eliminations of Jeffrey Tomlinson and Kitty Kuo in the space of 30 minutes. Then it was Niall Farrell's turn to go on a tear, joining Theologis with a stack of over four million, and leading the way at the three table redraw.

The field continued to get smaller, with Theologis ultimately making his exit in 18th place and start-of-day chipleader Foxen winning a flip to stay alive before doubling back to a healthy stack.

Farrell had dominated at times, but a huge double for Miscikowski — kings versus queens — saw him take a stranglehold as the final table approached. That pushed Farrell towards the exit, and he was eliminated in 12th place — the same position he finished in 2021.

With the tables combining at ten players, there was time left for just one more elimination as Lander Lijo hit the rail, with Miscikowski bagging the chip lead ahead of the final day tomorrow.

Lander Lijo Elminated In 10th Place ($35,237)

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Lander Lijo
Lander Lijo

Lander Lijo decided it was time, and put the entire 2,600,000 he had in the middle.

Nathan Russler was the last player to act, and he called for half of his stack to put Lijo at risk.

Lander Lijo: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Nathan Russler: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Lijo's pocket pair was in front until the flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, and then Russler's top pair was better.

A {q-Clubs} for the turn gave Russler top two pair, and Lijo needed a nine, but this time it was not meant to be when the {6-Clubs} finished the board.

Lijo was eliminated and the final table was established for tomorrow's final Day 4.

Michael Marder Eliminated In 11th Place ($35,237)

Level 30 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Michael Marder
Michael Marder

Michael Marder put in his last 750,000, and it folded around to Alex Foxen, who didn't instantly call.

After a few moments of the classic Foxen stare down, both players were in the pot, and the cards were tabled.

Michael Marder: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Alex Foxen: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Marder was behind, but his cards were live.

The flop gave Foxen middle pair {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, and Marder needed some help.

After the {a-Spades} made the turn and gave Foxen two pair, players told Marder good game before the {j-Clubs} completed the board and Marder's elimination was official.

Niall Farrell Eliminated in 12th Place ($28,102)

Level 30 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell raised to 300,000 from the cutoff and Stefan Lehner three-bet to 900,000 on the button. The blinds got out of their way and Farrell took a bit of time before four-bet shoving for around 4,600,000. Lehner called with the bigger stack.

Niall Farrell: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Stefan Lehner: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a chance to Farrell to chop.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} for the eight or five to be left to save Farrell but the river completed the board with the {q-Hearts} instead for Lehner to hit Broadway to eliminate Farrell in twelfth place and take the chip lead.

Alex Foxen made it 450,000 from the big blind. Joey Weissman was in the small blind, and called to see a flop.

First three cards to come were {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Weissman checked to Foxen, who bet 150,000, which Weissman called again.

The {9-Spades} put four cards on the board, and Foxen wasn't slowing down, betting 425,000.

Weissman folded, and Foxen went to greet his wife Kristen Foxen and their very cute and tiny dog on the rail, both cheering him on.

Michael Scarborough was first to act and threw in his last 175,000.

After initial four player action on the flop {2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Nicholas Dolen managed to chase everyone out before the river and cards were put in front of each player.

Foxen Doubles Up

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

"How much do you have?", Alex Foxen asked Michael Scarborough.

Before he answered, Foxen thanked him before pushing all in for 1,490,000.

Scarborough took minutes before responding, but did call Foxen's all in.

Alex Foxen: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Michael Scarborough: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The flop was exactly what Foxen wanted {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

It only got better from there as he turned the {k-Diamonds} for a full house, and scored the full double up, with a meaningless {2-Clubs} on the river to make it official.
