Davis Cracks Aces

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

A short-stacked opponent moved all-in and Shaun Davis called with a bigger stack.

Opponent: {a-}{a-}
Shaun Davis: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The opponent was in great shape to double up with the better overpair, but the board ran out {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the table gasped as Davis hit a king on the turn to crack the opponent's aces. The opponent winced in pain as she left the tournament area with the money bubble looming.

"I didn't even see the king come out! I was counting out the chips!" Davis told the table.

Pineda Gets 200,000-Chip Bluff Through

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Morrill Hits Miracle Runner-Runner Full House to Double Up

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jefferson Morrill opened to 15,000 from middle position and his opponent called from the big blind.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Morrill continued for 15,000 again. The big blind overbet jammed, putting Morrill all-in for his remaining 205,000 chips. Morrill considered and eventually called.

Jefferson Morrill: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Big Blind: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Morrill had about a 2% chance of winning the hand, which is slightly worse odds than hitting a one-outer.

However, the turn and river came {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to give Morrill queens over aces, trumping his opponent's deuces over queens.

Morrill received a miraculous double-up and sent his stunned opponent down to just 56,000 chips with the bubble upcoming.
