Hellmuth "Came Here to Win"

Level 11
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

After the first draw, Phil Hellmuth check-called a bet from Christopher Stephan, practically beating his opponent into the pot in the process.

Hellmuth drew two and Stephan stood pat. Hellmuth check-called another bet and drew one.

Stephan stood pat again and both players checked.

"I'm even money at an eight," said Hellmuth, sweating his final card. "I paired."

Stephan turned over {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-} and took down the pot as Hellmuth muttered an expletive.

"I threw an eight away!" he said. "It's alright, I came here to win."

Rast Gets a Fold

Level 11

Daniel Zack opened from middle position and was three-bet by Brian Rast on the button. Action folded back around to Zack who flatted to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

On the first draw, Zack took two cards to Rast's one before check-calling a bet from the three-bettor.

Zack took just one card during the second draw while Rast stood pat. Zack checked for a second time and Rast fired off another bet, which was not enough to shed Zack, who again made the call.

The final draw saw the same drawing pattern repeated before Zack check-folded to a third barrel from Rast.
