Break Time

The 280 remaining players are on their final 15-minute break of the day.

Day 1 of the tournament will conclude after three more levels of play.

Chad Left With Dregs; More Than Quadruples Up

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Norman Chad
Norman Chad

Jesper Olsen left Norman Chad with just 400 chips and the latter was all in on the next hand against Karina Jett, Jesper Olsen and another player.

Norman Chad: {x-}{6-}{4-}/{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Jesper Olsen: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{k-Clubs} - Folded Fifth Street
Karina Jett: {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{x-}

Olsen bet on fourth street with Jett being the only caller. Olsen folded after he faced a bet from Jett on fifth street.

Jett scooped a small side pot and told Chad that he had to beat a pair of sixes to stay in the competition. Chad turned over his down cards and celebrated when he saw that he made a seven-high straight.

The table then broke up the very next hand. The dealer gave Jett her new seat card but Jett thought it was the start of her next hand. She peeled the card to see her new table seat and then burst out in hysterics when she realised what she had done.

Michael Mizrachi: {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Justin Saliba was in heads-up pot against Michael Mizrachi and got the rest of his chips in on sixth street.

Saliba peeled his final card on seventh street and revealed the {4-Clubs} to make a better two pair than Mizrachi to scoop the pot and stay alive.

Matusow Finally Gets a Hand

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow : {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{x-} - snap-folded on fourth street

Mike Matusow completed and only one opponent called to get the hand heads-up.

Matusow bet on fourth street and the opponent instantly folded. Matusow tabled {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} to show that he had a strong holding.

"That's the best hand I've seen the whole series," said Matusow.

The four-time bracelet winner is sporting a t-shirt that reads "I'd Love a Mean Tweet and $1.79 Gas Right Now" and earlier argued to a tablemate that Elon Musk purchasing Twitter would be "the most important thing to happen in this country."

Woods and Cernuto Battle

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
James Woods
James Woods

James Woods: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}/{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
John Cernuto: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}/{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

There is some old school cool in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo event, with James Woods and John Cernuto sat next to each other on the same table.

Action was picked up on fourth street, with a player all-in and up against the two aforementioned players.

Cernuto called bets from Woods on fifth and sixth street before both players checked back on seventh street.

Woods took the side pot with a pair of aces. Woods also took half of the main pot with his high hand while the all-in player survived by making a low.
