Matusow Pipped on Both Ends to Be Eliminated

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow: {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}/{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Domnick Sarle: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}/{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Mike Matusow took a sick beat to be eliminated from the tournament when he was pipped by Domnick Sarle for both of the high and low portions of the pot.

Both players held ace-high flushes, with Sarle's queen beating out Matusow's nine for a better flush. As for the other half of the pot, Matusow's eight-five low was again pipped by the seven-five low of Sarle to send "The Mouth" out in brutal fashion.

"This is as bad as I've ever seen..." Matusow said glumly as he stood up.

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

Firooz Ghassemi was all-in pre-draw for 2,000 and was up against Jon Kyte.

Firooz Ghassemi: {6-Spades}{10-Spades}/{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}/{6-Clubs}
John Kyte: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}/{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}/{j-Clubs}

Kyte started off with trip sevens which meant his opponent was drawing thin from the get go. Kyte had quad sevens by fifth street and had his opponent drawing dead on sixth street.

Ghassemi exited the tournament room after his bust out was confirmed.

Pearce Arnold: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kenneth Po: {x-}{x-} / {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Nate Silver: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

Picking up the action on sixth street, Pearce Arnold fired a bet and Kenneth Po went in the tank before calling. Nate Silver also called.

Arnold bet once more on seventh street and only Po called.

"You're probably good," Po said.

Arnold tabled an ace-high flush and a seven-five low, which was good to scoop the pot.

"Not what I was expecting, but it's good," Po said before mucking.

Kirill Tsyngalev: {k-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}/{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Ben Tang: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}/{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Kirill Tsyngalev completed before Ben Tang raised on third street. Tsyngalev three-bet and Tang called.

Tang called a bet on fourth street before raising on fifth street. Tsyngalev called and the same action repeated on sixth street before both players checked back on the river.

Tsyngalev had a full house for one half of the pot while Tang took the rest with his low.

Triple Up for Kyte

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jon Kyte: {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Spades} / {q-Spades}
Chad Campbell: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} / {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades} / {2-Clubs}
Kyle Hinnerichs: {x-}{x-} / {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} - folded on sixth street

Jon Kyte three-bet all in on fifth street and his two opponents, Chad Campbell and Kyle Hinnerichs, both called.

Campbell bet on sixth street and Hinnerichs folded to get the hand heads-up. Kyte showed a straight and a six-five low to be ahead, while Campbell had outs with a flush draw.

Campbell didn't get there on seventh street and Kyte scooped a big pot to triple up.

"A straight and a low on fifth. That's a pretty good hand," said Kyte.

"Better than most," replied a tablemate.
