Wasserson Says WTF Then Wins a Big One

Level 16
Eric Wasserson
Eric Wasserson

Eric Wasserson: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}/{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Chad Eveslage: {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}/{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{x-}
Steven Loube: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} - folded fifth street

Eric Wasserson raised the bring-in on third street and was then re-raised by Chad Eveslage showing a nine. With playful surprise, Wasserson said "what the f***" then Steven Loube called with a five and Wasserson called as well.

On fourth street Wasserson pulled a nine, while Eveslage and Loube each got an eight. Wasserson checked to Eveslage, who bet, prompting another joking "what the f***" from Wasserson. Loube and Wasserson laughed then called to see fifth street.

On fifth, Eveslage picked up another nine. Eveslage bet his pair of nines, Loube folded and then Wasserson came with a raise.

Eveslage called, then on sixth street check-called a bet from Wasserson.

On seventh Eveslage check-called once more, for Wasserson to declare, "flush and a wheel."

Eveslage tossed his red aces in the hole into the muck as the largest pot of the level went to Wasserson.

Dominik Baud: {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}/{4-Spades}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}/{k-Spades}
Eric Kurtzman: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}/{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}/{3-Clubs}

Heads up to fourth street between short-stacked Dominik Baud and Eric Kurtzman, Baud bet and was called by Kurtzman.

On fifth street, Baud bet again and was raised by Kurtzman. Baud then commited the rest of his chips and was happily called by Kurtzman, who showed trip jacks, while Baud just had a pair of fours and a low draw.

Kurtzman filled up on sixth, leaving Baud needing to make a low, but his nine-king runout ended his tournament short of the money, finally breaking a nearly two-hour bubble and guaranteeing the remaining players $16,358.

Peter Gelencser: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}/{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Chris Tryba, Eric Kurtzman, and Peter Gelencser all got four bets in on third street and Gelencser ended up all in.

"Payout," yelled Gelencser in anticipation of his near future.

On fourth, Kurtzman bet and Triba made the call.

Kurtzman hit another low card on fifth and bet again, Kurtzman came along again.

On sixth, Kurtzman hit a fourth low card and bet again while Tryba saw a brick and let it go.

Cards on their backs, seventh was dealt to Kurtzman first who flipped a heart for a flush that left Gelencser drawing dead and he was eliminated.

Shaun Deeb: {6-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

"Straight six is gonna win," replied Deeb, who lost his first significant pot in quite some time.

Loube Triples Up With a Full House

Level 17

Daniel Negreanu: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Spades}/{x-} - folded seventh street
Chad Eveslage: {k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

Action started on sixth street with Steven Loube moving all in for his last 14,000 chips. Daniel Negreanu made the call, but Chad Eveslage put the full big bet of 30,000 in. Negreanu called.

On seventh, Negreanu checked and Loube bet again. Negreanu thought for a bit and folded.

"I have a flush," announced Eveslage.

That was no good, though, as Loube showed his full house for the scoop.
