Walters Triples Up

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up after Clyde Walters had gone all in for 4,800 and gotten calls from the button and the hijack, who checked the remaining action all the way through as the board came {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Clyde Walters: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Hijack: {6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Button: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Walters had made two pair on the turn, while both opponents failed to connect with any part of the board. He scooped the pot and secured the triple up to remain in the tournament.

Mihokovich Outguns Mahoney

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

With 4,300 in the middle on a flop of {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} the big blind bet 1,500 and was called by under-the-gun James Mihokovich.

Dominic Mahoney on the button raised to 4,100 which got a fold from the big blind, but Mihokovich decided to bet 10,000.

Mahoney agonized over his decision and eventually folded.

Blumenfield's Climbing

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Neil Blumenfield
Neil Blumenfield

Neil Blumenfield was second to act and raised it to 1,200. Four players called, his neighbor, player on the button, and both players in the blinds.

On a {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Blumenfield made a 3,500 continuation-bet, called by his neighbor. Action was back to the player in the small blind, who check-raised all-in for about 18,000. Blumenfield called and the last player folded.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Neil Blumenfield: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Blumenfield made the straight on the flop but had to avoid clubs to eliminate his opponents, who also played a gutshot for a better straight. Which he did after a {3-Spades} on the turn and a {8-Spades} on the river to complete the board.

Becker Takes Pot From Maudlin

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

David Maudlin bet 1,300 from the cutoff and all three players behind called including Kelly Becker on the button.

The {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop allowed Maudlin to continue for 1,600 and was called by Becker. Both blinds folded.

Both players checked the {q-Hearts} turn, but Becker bet 3,000 on the {6-Diamonds} river. Maudlin made a quick call and Becker turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} which was good enough for the pot.

Lametta's Running Good

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Peter Lametta was seen eliminating a player with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} against {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, on a classic race. The turn came {a-Spades} and Lametta was able to bust another player.

While he was building an all new stack in front of him, he confessed that it was not only about this hand.

"I just busted two players in a row ! On the previous hand, I had Deuces against Fives, and I hit the Deuce. That's amazing."

Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Action was caught with almost 10,000 in the pot on a {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. From the small blind, Greg Raymer called the 10,000 all-in from Rudy Herrera, in early position.

Rudy Herrera: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Greg Raymer: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor the {q-Spades} on the river helped him to eliminate a player.

Wright's Boat Fills Up on River

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Action was picked up after Scott Wright moved all in from the small blind for around 7,000. He got a call from a player in early position who was the short stack with around 3,000 left. The middle position player tanked for a bit, before reluctantly making the lay down.

Opponent: {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Scott Wright: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Wright had turned over his kings first, to which his opponent remarked "I got kings too... but they don't look like kings," as he turned over his hand.

The {j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop gave the opponent a gutshot straight draw. "I hope you make a set," he told Wright, as the king would complete his straight. The {6-Spades} paired the board before the {k-Clubs} hit on the river. The opponent had gotten his wish, Wright had made a set and he had completed his straight, but the paired board gave Wright a full house, enough to beat his opponent's Broadway straight, and send him to the rail.
