Liberto and Julia Meet Again

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Justin Liberto
Justin Liberto

Omaha Hi-Lo

Justin Liberto late-registered and was sent to a table that included none other than the defending champion Nicholas Julia, who he had battled with for many hours before eventually finishing in third place.

Both clashed soon after when Julia raised and Liberto three-bet on the button for Julia to call. They checked the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and Julia bet the {j-Hearts} turn. Liberto raised and that ended the hand right there.

"Write it down, I was just dominated by the third-best nine-game player in the world," Julia joked.

Thorpe Takes With River Bet

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

A player in the under-the-gun position opened with a raise to 1,200 and another player called from the next seat over. Scott Bohlman came along from the cutoff and Mike Thrope called from the small blind. The big blind tossed in a few more chips and it was a family pot.

The board was {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Thorpe checked. The player in the big blind checked behind and their opponent under the gun bet 6,400. The opponent in middle position joined Bohlman and got out of there while Thorpe called before the big blind mucked. Action was heads up and the turn was {9-Hearts}.

Thrope put out a stack of mixed up chips to bet the pot and his opponent tossed it in the muck to give up the pot.

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Omaha 8 Or Better

Daniel Negreanu in the hijack bet and was raised by Randy Ohel in the cutoff. Action folded back round to Negreanu where he called.

Hu Sends Opponent To The Rail

Level 6 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Three ways to a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} with 15,600 in the middle, Nai Hu in the big blind bet the pot for 15,600 and was met with a shove from the button for 36,100. The small blind folded and Hu made the call.

Button: {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Nai Hu: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Hu had a pair of threes, a better flush draw, and an open-ended straight draw. His opponent had a pair of fives and a weaker flush draw.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} which did not help either player, however, the {8-Spades} river gave Hu the king-high flush to take a massive pot and eliminate his opponent.
