Linde Wins One Against Dzivielevski; Loses One to Ashton

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Seven Card Stud

Yuri Dzivielevski: {x-}{x-} / {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} folded on fourth
Dylan Linde: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Yuri Dzivielevski checked fourth street with a ten when Dylan Linde bet. Fifth street propelled Linde into the lead with a king, which he bet right away and earned a quick fold.

Matthew Ashton: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} / {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Dylan Linde: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} / {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} / {5-Hearts}

Matthew Ashton then completed and Linde called as the former bet fourth street and Linde came along. On fifth street, Linde paired his trey and bet for Ashton to call. The last two streets were checked down and Linde tabled fours and treys while Ashton had the superior to pair with jacks and tens.

Hellmuth Gets Short Within Two Hands; Jibes With Friedman

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Seven Card Stud

Phil Hellmuth had already mucked his board while Dave Rogers meshed his cards together, exposing {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a full house. Both engaged in some table chat and Rogers admitted he already had too many chips of his short stack invested and put Hellmuth on "maybe a pair of tens".

Dave Rogers: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{9-Spades} folded on fourth
Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-} folded on sixth
Brian Yoon: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The next stud hand followed shortly thereafter in which Brian Yoon completed and received two callers. Yoon paired his king right away on fourth to bet and Hellmuth was the only caller. Another bet by Yoon and call by Hellmuth followed on fifth before Yoon bet sixth to force out Hellmuth.

More bad news for Hellmuth came shortly after when an animated discussion with Adam Friedman from one table over unfolded.

Apparently, both had a discussion about the mark-up charged by Hellmuth for this very event in which the 16-time WSOP gold bracelet winner entered in the last level of the registration period.

Hellmuth was heard remarking "Why would you try to tilt me in the $50k you motherf*****" to Friedman.

The spat was still going on a few minutes later.

"Don't ever come up to me in a tournament again. Even the guys at my table are saying you're out of line," he said. "Just know you'll never win as much as me so there's probably some jealousy going on."

"Come on bud," Matthew Gonzales said to Hellmuth in an attempt to defuse the situation.

Smith Finds a Fold After Seven-Minute Tank

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

No-Limit Hold'em

Koray Aldemir raised on the button to 14,000. David Benyamine three-bet to 58,000 in the small blind and Dan Smith four-bet to 135,000 from the big blind. Aldemir folded and Benyamine called.

Benyamine checked the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop over to his opponent who bet 75,000. Benyamine then check-raised all in for 372,000. Smith, to put it mildly, went into the tank.

Smith thought about his decision over the course of seven minutes. With an effective stack of 430,000, he wouldn't be all in but he would be left with just 55,000 behind.

"I have a bad hand," he said to Benyamine.

"Good news," said Benyamine. "Very good news."

Smith deliberated some more, apologizing to the table.

"I know you have a bad hand," piped up Benyamine. "I'm relaxed."

"It's possible I have the best hand," said Smith, apologizing again. "You can call the clock if you want"

Jesse Klein did so, but no sooner had the floor begun the countdown, he mucked his hand.

Baker Cracks Aces to Double Up

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Philip Sternheimer and David "ODB" Baker got all of their chips in the middle after a couple of raises and it was Baker at risk for a little over 100,000.

David "ODB" Baker: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Philip Sternheimer: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Sternheimer still held the lead with his pair of aces but Baker picked up plenty of outs. The {8-Hearts} on the turn was one of them, giving Baker a straight, and Sternheimer was drawing dead to the {k-Spades} on the river.

Cates Beats Seiver in Showdown

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

After the completion of the first draw, Scott Seiver check-called a bet by Dan Cates and discarded two while Cates took one new card. Seiver then check-raised and Cates called for the former to pat and Cates took one new card.

Seiver bet after the final draw and Cates called as Seiver motioned "you win" without showing his cards. Cates briefly rolled over what appeared to be {8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}{2-} and that indeed won the pot.

Negreanu's Combo Draw Gets There

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Daniel Negreanu and Alex Rocha were heads-up on a board reading {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Negreanu tossed in a bet on the turn. Rocha called and the {9-Diamonds} completed the board.

Negreanu fired out another bet and Rocha quickly looked him up. Negreanu turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the nut straight after having a huge draw on the turn and Rocha was forced to muck.

Negreanu Chips Up Through Lamb

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Seven Card Stud

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} / {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Ben Lamb: {x-}{x-} / {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} / {x-}

Picking up the action as of fifth street, Ben Lamb checked and called a bet by Daniel Negreanu, who then paired up on sixth street and bet once more in rapid fashion. Lamb called and then faced another near-instant bet on seventh street, which he also called as well.

Negreanu announced aces up and flashed the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, which was good enough to win the pot. Lamb glanced at his cards for a while and then mucked them before questioning whether or not Negreanu had started with aces in the hole.

Mike Noori chimed in with a "tapping the table makes it real", which caused some laughter at the table.

Negreanu, Noori and Phil Ivey are up in chips while Michael Mizrachi has lost a portion of his large stack.

Hellmuth Joins the Field; Mizrachi Chops to Stay Alive

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Dave Rogers: {x-}{x-} / {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}folded on sixth street
Ali Eslami: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Robert Mizrachi: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

Dave Rogers completed and Ali Eslami called. Robert Mizrachi raised and Rogers re-raised getting two calls. Mizrachi was now all in.

Rogers and Eslami both checked fourth and fifth street. Eslami bet on sixth street and Rogers folded.

Mizrachi showed {4-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a six-four low while Eslami showed {2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for two pair. Eslami showed his {10-Clubs} completing his board, with Mizrachi freerolling for the scoop. However he could only draw the {9-Hearts} to stay alive with a chop.

Meanwhile, a certain Phil Hellmuth has joined the Poker Players Championship field and is seated at this table.
