Chen On A Massive Spin-Up

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Early position bet 13,000 leaving only 1,000 behind. Guang Chen in the hijack made the call. The button raised to 44,000. Middle position flicked in their remaining 1,000 chip and Chen made the call.

Chen checked dark before the flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the button moved all in for 154,000. Chen snap-called for 152,000.

Early Position: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Guang Chen: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Button: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The button was ahead with pocket jacks, but Chen had several outs as they could hit an ace, a flush or hit with their up and down straight draw.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} securing the win for Chen and the case {j-Clubs} completed the board to rub salt in the wounds to the button who was left with 2,000 chips. The small blind exited the tournament.

Chen spoke to a PokerNews reporter after their hand and explained that they max late-regged the event and spun-up from 40,000 chips to 413,000 in less than 20 minutes.

Deuce in the Window

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Pierre Calamusa
Pierre Calamusa

Pierre Calamusa got it all in preflop for 44,000 against two other players, putting himself at risk as the cards were tabled.

Pierre Calamusa: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Opponent 1: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Opponent 2: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

"Oh I'm a huge favorite, I got this," Calamusa told them, "This is how much you're about to pay me," he continued as he put his chips in a neat stack.

And sure enough, a deuce came right in the window of the {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, much to the dismay of the other opponents.

The turn {7-Diamonds} improved Calamusa to a full house and the {4-Clubs} completed the board to score him a huge triple- up.

"See, I told you guys!" Calamusa grinned as he stacked his new chips.

Bruno With A Knock Out

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

There were 32,000 in the middle and the button was already all in preflop against three players. Kenneth Bruno in the big blind, the under the gun player, and middle position.

The flop of {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} prompted middle position to bet 16,000. Bruno made the call but under the gun folded.

Both players checked the remainder of the runout of {10-Spades}{q-Spades}. Middle position showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for second pair, the button showed {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for top pair, but Bruno rolled over {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a queen-high straight to take the pot and send the small blind to the rail.

Gabriel Shohet: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Middle Position: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth raised to 6,000 from late position preflop and was called by Kia Hooshmand in the big blind.

Hooshman checked in the dark as the flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Hellmuth bet 10,000 and Hooshmand called.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the action went check-check.

But on the {2-Hearts} river, Hooshmand checked once again to Hellmuth, who then bet 15,000 and was snap-raised all in by Hooshman.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me," Hellmuth said as he stood up. He showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and he looked disgusted as he threw them face up into the muck.
