Duek Dashes Out a Double; Gets Some Chips Back

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Firas Kashat
Firas Kashat

Firas Kashat got his shorter stack in before the flop and was up against the red-hot running chip leader Michael Duek.

Firas Kashat: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Michael Duek: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board came {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Kashat turned treys full of jacks to survive.

Jered Bettencourt then raised to 160,000 shortly after with Duek flat-calling on the button, Dzmitry Urbanovich opted to defend the big blind as well. The {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop was checked and subsequently folded by Urbanovich while Bettencourt bet 180,000 and Duek called.

After the {8-Hearts} turn, Bettencourt checked and Duek bet the pot for 960,000 to win the pot uncontested.
