Minghini Eliminates Korn

Level 20

Big O

All the chips went into the middle on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} with Andres Korn at risk for 120,000.

Andres Korn: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Jarod Minghini: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Both players had top two pair and a gutshot for broadway with Korn needing a jack and Minghini looking for a queen. The {q-Diamonds} came on the turn and the {4-Spades} completed the board with Minghini making the straight to send Korn out of the competition.

Thurber Takes From Kornuth

Level 20
Laurette Thurber
Laurette Thurber

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

On a {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Spades} flop, Mark Jenkins checked from the small blind, Chance Kornuth bet from the big blind and Laurette Thurber called in the hijack. Jenkins then also called and the trio saw a turn card.

That turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and after Jenkins checked again, Kornuth bet once more and Thurber called again, leaving herself just 40,000 behind. Jenkins folded to leave the pot heads-up.

On the river {9-Clubs}, Kornuth slowed down and checked. Thurber then took both of her her yellow towers of T-1,000 chips and slid them forward, only to be reminded she could only bet one of them for 20,000.

Kornuth tossed in calling chips and saw Thurber table {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a queen-high straight, which prompted Kornuth to toss his cards into the muck.

Cha Checked Out

Level 21

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

PJ Cha in the cutoff was all in for his remaining 7,000 preflop. Cha was called by under the gun Mark Erickson, Jeffrey Kostyniuk in the small blind, and Anthony Nguyen in the big blind.

All three active players checked all the way down with Cha jokingly complaining it was a conspiracy and demanding an investigation into the collusion.

On the completed board of {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Erickson revealed {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a set of nines to take the main pot. Anthony Nguyen had {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} to take the low with {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{a-}.

Kostyniuk threw their cards into the muck and Cha's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} could not beat either the high or low and was sent to the rail.
