Riest Makes Broadway

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up with 2,300 in the pot and a board of {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Robert Riest, in the small blind, checked to his opponent, the big blind, who led out for 2,300. Riest thought for a bit, before asking his opponent, "How much do you have left?" His opponent lifted his arms revealing his chips, and Riest seemed satisfied with what he saw, tossing in the call.

The pair checked the {a-Spades} turn before Riest fired for 6,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. His opponent thought for a moment or two, before making the call. "Straight," Riest announced before turning over {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the Broadway straight. His opponent tossed his cards into the muck as Riest scooped the pot.

Hawkins Doubles Up

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up with around 6,000 in the pot and a board of {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}. Maurice Hawkins, on the button, moved all in for his remaining 6,000. His opponent, the hijack made the call to put Hawkins at risk.

Maurice Hawkins: {10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Both players had connected with the flop, with Hawkins coming out ahead with his three queens. The {4-Clubs} river was a safe one, and he secured the double up.

Good Start for Macaraeg

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Tad Macaraeg raised to 600 and got called by the big blind. The flop came {3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the big blind check-called Macaraeg's continuation for 600.

The {a-Diamonds} turn brought no betting action and a {k-Hearts} came on the river. This time the big blind quickly check-folded after Macaraeg sent a bet of 1,100.

Aces Cracked for Weinberg in Big Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

According to the table, the under the gun opened to 500 and picked up two calls before Seth Weinberg three-bet on the button to 2,000. The under the gun four-bet to 6,500 and it folded back to Weinberg who five-bet to 15,000. The under the gun jammed for 39,500 and Weinberg called, having his opponent covered:

Seth Weinberg: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Weinberg was in great shape to win the pot and climb to a massive stack early in the tournament but the board showed {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, giving trips to his opponent. Weinberg still had outs for a flush but the {5-Spades} hit the river and he chipped down to only 5,000 chips left.

Hyman Knocks Out Yuan

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up with a board of {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and north of 30,000 in the pot. Ye Yuan had moved all in from late position, before Jared Hyman, on the button, made the call, putting Yuan at risk.

Ye Yuan: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Jared Hyman: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs} hit the table on the turn. "Oh that's me, kings full," Hyman pointed out. The {q-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and the pot belonged to Hyman while Yuan was sent to the rail.
