Kaplan Sends Park Out

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

No-Limit Holdem

Robert Park raised to 55,000 in the cutoff and Jordan Kaplan raised to 500,000 in the small blind, covering his opponents. Park snap-called with around 460,000 for the following showdown:

Robert Park: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Jordan Kaplan: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Park was in great shape for a double up but the board showed {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} to give a straight on the river to Kaplan and eliminate Park in 25th place.

Chuprun Takes Big from Grinko

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a blind versus blind situation, Edward Grinko completed and called a raise from Daniel Chuprun for 75,000.

The flop fanned {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and Grinko check-called Chuprun for 60,000. The same action happened on the {3-Clubs} turn, this time for 210,00.

Paul Fehlig was eliminated a few minutes before at the table next to them.

A {2-Clubs} came on the river and Grinko checked one last time. Chuprun fired 540,000 and Grinko went deep into the tank before sending a chip for the call. Chuprun tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the full house and Grinko mucked his cards.

Andreassen Knocks Out Karim

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Zo Karim moved all in from the button for 365,000 and got a single caller, Vegard Andreassen in the big blind, who had Karim covered handily.

Zo Karim: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Vegard Andreassen: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Karim was ahead and in good position for a double, but fell behind quickly when the {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop gave Andreassen a pair. The {8-Diamonds} turn and {2-Diamonds} river were of no help to Karim, while improving Andreassen to the nut flush. He scooped the pot and eliminated Karim.

Dinner Break

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The 33 remaining players of the event are now on their way to a 60-minute dinner break. Play will resume at 8.35 pm at blinds 10,000/ 25,000 with a 25,000 ante.

Consecutive Knockouts on Table 678

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

After an open from under the gun to 40,000 was called by two players, Vegard Andreassen raised it up to 80,000 from the big blind, and received three callers. On the {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, Andreassen led out with a pot sized bet. Joffrey Lhote moved all in for not much more, and Andreassen completed.

Joffrey Lhote: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Vegard Andreassen: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Andreassen was ahead with his aces, but would need to fade Lhote's flush draw. He did so successfully as the {3-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river were bricks, and Lhote was eliminated.

On the very next hand, Demosthenes Kiriopoulos found himself all in against Sandeep Pulusani, who had him covered.

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos: {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Sandeep Pulusani: {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Any hope Kiriopoulos had quickly evaporated as Pulusani made a straight on the {9-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop. The {7-Diamonds} changed nothing, and the {3-Spades} river needlessly improved Pulusani to a flush, knocking Kiriopoulos out of the tournament.
