Pulusani Scores Knockout with Top Pair

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was joined on the river with nearly 200,000 already in the middle. The board read {5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Sandeep Pulusani, in the small blind, checked over to Zak Lawson who jammed with an effective stack of around 200,000. Pulusani went deep into the tank, before emerging with a call.

"Good call." Lawson said immediately as the two tabled their hands.

Zak Lawson: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Sandeep Pulusani: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Pulusani's pair of jacks was best, and he scooped the pot, eliminating Lawson.

Schwarmann Sends Wood Out

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Christopher Wood shoved on the button for his last 60,000 and Matthew O'Donnell folded in the small blind to Nick Schwarmann who quickly called:

Christopher Wood: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Nick Schwarmann: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The flop gave good hopes to Wood for a double up with {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, but a {a-Spades} came on the turn and Wood was officialy eliminated after the {5-Spades} completed the board.

Schwarmann Shoves in the Dark

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Action was picked up with around 60,000 already in the pot and a board reading {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts} on the felt. Nick Schwarmann had just bet 125,000 from the small blind. His opponent, Lawrence Brandt, made the call from across the table.

"You call? You're crazy," Schwarmann said, "I shove in the dark," moving all in without seeing the turn. Brandt made the call in the dark as well, and the two were racing, with Brandt at risk.

Lawrence Brandt: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Nick Schwarmann: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Brandt had the best of it with the jack high straight, and was roughly a 2:1 favorite to double up against Schwarmann's set. That was until the {9-Clubs} turn and {8-Hearts} river completely counterfeited his hand, putting a jack high straight on the board, and resulting in a chopped pot.

"I'm telling you guys, you can't beat me!" Schwarmann told the table.

Cox Makes the Call on Weisman

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Dylan Weisman
Dylan Weisman

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a three-way pot with already around 150,000 in the pot, the flop read {j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} when Michael Cox checked in the big blind, and so did Dylan Weisman under the gun and Samuel Spiwak next to him.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Cox led out for 60,000, which was called by Weisman and Spiwak.

The {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Cox checked to Weisman who bet 150,000. Spiwak quickly folded but Cox took a minute and called, showing {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for the flush. Weisman sent his cards into the muck, only showing a {j-Clubs}.

Queen on the River for Park

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Manuel Labous opened to 22,000 and Khorchidian Nichan three-bet on the button. Robert Park shoved in the small blind for 70,000 and it folded back to Nichan who completed for the following showdown:

Robert Park: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Khorchidian Nichan: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

The flop fell {3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Park stood up from his chair, ready to leave the tournament's area. The {4-Clubs} bricked on the turn but a {q-Diamonds} hit the river to give the set to Park and the needed double.
