Tabares Gets River Value From No Pair

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Daniela Rodriguez
Daniela Rodriguez

In a heads-up pot, Daniela Rodriguez Tabares looked at a board of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}. From under the gun, she bet 12,000. Her only opponent, Hunter Barnett in the big blind, made the call.

The {6-Spades} hit the turn, both players checked that street.

On the {10-Clubs} river, Barnett checked again. Tabares bet 12,000, the same size as her flop bet. Barnett thought for about 30 seconds and made the call.

"Ten?" asked Tabares, as she flipped over {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

It was good, Barnett flashed ace-king for the bluff-catcher.

Nyuli Makes the Flush on Yunis

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The action was picked up on a board {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} with a sizeable pot. Nick Yunis checked and after some thinking, Tibor Nyuli chose to bet 40,000, which Yunis snap-called.

Nyuli turned over {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for the flush and Yunis released his cards into the muck.

Reid's Rockets Hold Up

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The board was double paired {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} on the river. Mitchell Reid bet 25,000. Brian Kim clicked it back for 50,000. Reid took some time before he eventually called.

Kim tabled the {k-}{j-} which Reid had bested with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} as his aces held up as the best hand on the scary board.

Nakanishi Nearing a Million After Triple Barrel

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a four-bet pot to the {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, Aaron Tourangeau checked and then called a bet worth 45,000 by Shota Nakanishi. He checked again the {2-Clubs} on the turn to then call a bet worth 75,000 and checked the {k-Clubs} on the river.

Nakanishi piled in a large bet of more than 350,000, which covered his opponent. The Japanese WSOP bracelet winner was all smiles while Tourangeau was trying to get a read and the latter opted to fold the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} face up.

"Come on, one time," Tourangeau demanded but Nakanishi just grinned back with a "I forgot".

Gromenkova Benefits From Nice Runout

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Following an open raise to 7,000, Svetlana Gromenkova pushed all-in for 60,500 and it folded to Nico Neizert in the cutoff. He flat-called and the initial raiser folded for the following showdown to emerge.

Svetlana Gromenkova: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Nico Neizert: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop brought some hope for Gromenkova and another player on the table guessed the {10-Diamonds} would follow next. Sure enough, that's the very card that appeared on the turn. Gromenkova now had the flush draw on top and she got there thanks to the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

Neizert's roller coaster ride received another chapter as his stack size fluctuated wildly in the first two levels of the day so far.

Start of Day Leaders Update

Baumann Felts Opponent

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

A player opened to 7,000 from under the gun and was called by Gaelle Baumann out of the small blind as well as the big blind.

Action checked to the preflop raiser after the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} flop and he continued for 10,000. Baumann called and the big blind, undeterred by the action ahead of him, raised to 31,000. The under the gun player responded by moving all in for 123,500. Baumann thought for a short while before re-jamming with the covering stack, prompting the big blind to lay his hand down.

Under the Gun Player: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Gaelle Baumann: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Baumann was way ahead with her flopped set and sealed the deal on the {10-Spades} turn prior to the meaningless {3-Hearts} river to send her stack shooting up the chip counts.
