Yankov Folds versus Roussey

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Quentin Roussey called in the big blind a raise from Krasimir Yankov and the duo checked on the flop {2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

The {a-Clubs} turn went also check-check and Rousey sent 31,500 in the middle when the {k-Spades} landed on the river. Yankov tanked a minute and eventually folded.

Deffrasnes Gets Fold From Nakamura

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Kenny Deffrasnes
Kenny Deffrasnes

Kenny Deffrasnes was battling with Tamon Nakamura on the river. The board read {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Deffrasnes bet 30,000, nearly the size of the pot on the final street. Nakamura went back and forth. He had calling chips in hand, and he nearly put them in multiple times. Ultimately, he did late it down and shipped the pot to Deffrasnes.

Pett Doubles Up

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Mark Pett
Mark Pett

The heads-up action was picked up with 152,500 already in the pot and a board reading {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} on the table.

The button led out for 85,000, around half his remaining chips. Mark Pett, in the big blind, went into the tank briefly, before eventually moving all in with the effective stack of 126,500.

"Yeah. You caught me," his opponent responded, seeming to know he was beat, but tossing in the call anyway. "Nice call."

Mark Pett: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Pett was ahead, but any ace, jack or heart on the river would end his tournament dreams. He evaded his opponent's outs successfully, as the {5-Spades} river was a brick. He scooped the pot to move to nearly double the size of the average stack.

Davies Navigates Three-Way Pot

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Seth Davies
Seth Davies

Picking up the action after the flop, Seth Davies in early position was involved in a hand with the small and big blinds. With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} both blinds checked and Davies led out for 5,000. Neither of his opponents were going anywhere just yet and called.

All three players checked through the {9-Hearts} turn to the {3-Clubs} river where the small blind and big blind checked once again. Davies paused for a moment before checking back and turning over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, sufficient to scoop the pot. Davies, sitting on 88,000, is still a relative short stack but will be looking to spin that up as the day progresses.

Rast Gets Run Down by the Ol' Four-Deuce Off

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Brian Rast raised to 6,000 from under the gun and only Mack Khan called from the big blind.

Both players checked the {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} flop to the {9-Hearts} turn. Khan bet 7,000 and Rast called.

The river brought the {4-Diamonds} and Khan sized up to 22,000. Rast called after some thought.

Khan rolled over {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a rivered two pair, and the five-time WSOP bracelet winner flashed {a-Clubs} a pair of aces as he folded.

Halfa Doubles Through Maimone

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a preflop raising war, Shalev Halfa got it in for 139,000 with the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and had hearts and an ace to fear when he was looked up by Nick Maimone, who had jammed over the top of a squeeze with the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} and the kings held for Halfa to remain in contention.

Chen Downs One

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Zhan Chen opened to 8,000 and then called the 18,000 jam from the middle position player.

Middle Position: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Zhan Chen: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Chen was the only player to pair up on the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop but the middle position player still could hit his king or make Broadway to scoop the pot.

The {2-Spades} turn and {5-Spades} river completed the board and Chen chipped up and sent his opponent to the rail.

Pirani Coolers Bronshtein

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Yuval Bronshtein raised to 7,000 from early position. Two players in the field made the call before action arrived at Thiago Pirani in the big blind.

Pirani slid a stack of chips worth 47,000 into the pot. Bronshtein thought for about a minute before betting about 110,000, representing somewhere around 70 percent of his stack.

Action folded back to Pirani who bet enough to cover what Bronshtein had remaining, Bronshtein made the call.

Yuval Bronshtein: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Thiago Pirani: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Bronshtein needed help to stay alive, but the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and he was eliminated. The players shook hands as Bronshtein headed to the rail.
