Cavelier Gets Full Double With Aces

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Matteo Cavelier raised to 20,000 from middle position. Big-stacked Victor Li three-bet to 60,000. Action folded back to Cavelier who four-bet to 155,000. Li called to head to a flop.

The dealer put out {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Cavelier continued for 50,000. Li raised the flop to 155,000 in position. Cavelier moved all in for 425,000 and Li called immediately to put Cavelier at risk.

Victor Li: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Matteo Cavelier: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Cavelier was ahead but needed to dodge the open-ender and backdoor flush draw of Li. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river {7-Diamonds}, both safe for Cavelier who locked up the full double.

"Welcome to the millionaire club," said a tablemate.

Reed's Stack Growing

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Robert Reed has nearly doubled his stack to start the day and has provided one of the many latest eliminations in the process.

After Reed opened to 20,000 in early position, his opponent in the cutoff jammed for 287,000.

Reed took a bit of time to decide, but landed on a call, and he was in great shape.

Opponent: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Robert Reed: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, flopping a set for Reed to boost his stack over a million.

Imsirovic Cracks Kings to Oust Lopez

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ali Imsirovic
Ali Imsirovic

Ali Imsirovic had four green T-25,000 chips over the betting line in the big blind and was facing an all-in for roughly 600,000 by Jose Lopez in the hijack. Imsirovic thought about it and called.

Jose Lopez: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ali Imsirovic: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop gave Imsirovic more outs, and the {8-Hearts} hit the felt on the turn to vault Imsirovic ahead as a couple of groans were heard from the table. Lopez needed one of the two tens in the deck to survive with a superior straight, but the {9-Spades} river confirmed the result to eliminate him, while Imsirovic chipped up.

Watson Finds the Call During Break

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Patrick Hagenlocher
Patrick Hagenlocher

Elliot Smith opened to 16,000 from under the gun and was called by Andrew Watson on his direct left. Day 1b chip leader Patrick Hagenlocher then made it 51,000 from middle position, only Watson called.

Watson check-called bets of 76,000 and 200,000 for the final board to read {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Watson checked again and Hagenlocher fired for 340,000. Watson went deep into the tank and the hand had long gone into the break. After around 4 minutes, Watson finally called.

"Good call," said Hagenlocher, as he tabled his {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for just ace high. Watson turned over his {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and scooped in the mammoth-sized pot to leave his opponent short.
